electrical question

Do any of you know if the 12R has the accessory plugs that all the other Kawis I owned have had? I want to install heated grips and dont want to go to the batt direct. I have to much shit on there as it is (12v power socket, batt tender) and HATE pulling the thing. I know the 12 has an accessory circut in the fuse box that is fused 10A. Where do you plug into it?......Thanks

No, theres not those accessory plugs like in other Kawis, but You can connect Your "Abico" connector to the fusebox and ground to a good ground. But is that 10A enough for the heated grips? If You allready have a power socket couldn't You use those wires for the grips too?

Yeah you have to wire your own connector onto that accessory circuit on the fusebox. Mild PITA but not a big deal really.

RATS...I like those things, saves tons of time. Yes they are good for a 10a. I use the socket everytime I ride for a gps and dont want to overload anything since it is on a wired 15a.

Ok, I looked at the diagram in the manual. I see #6(accessory 10A) at the junction box but the lead only sticks out and ends. The other goes to a ground it appears(getting old need magnifier glass) LOL. Do I just remove the junction box from the frame and tie into it underneath? or split it and go in to the thing direct?

Thanks for the help!!!

Yeah just remove and attach. I don't recall for sure, but I think it just takes a standard space connector, so it is actually a pretty clean install.

Yes, what freek said. Just remove the tank cover and the fuse box is there. Open it and at one end You'll find one free connector - there's all You have to do. Opening the fuse box let's You see easily what is the correct connector. Anyhoy I think there is only one free anyhow but just to be safe.
