Muzzy's stacks--which to use with 1270 kit?
Hi guys and gals!
My 12 is currently at the shop receiving a 1270 kit. While it's apart and going to need more air when it gets back together, I was wondering which stacks would be the best for a street ridden bike--stock or shorter? Of course I already have a full pipe, PCIIIR, K&N, block-off plates, 17/46 gearing but no other items intended (no cams, headwork, NOS, etc.)
Doug Meyer any thoughts?

KSMH,
I don't have any experience with Muzzys but have quite a bit with Bears.
The original "short" stacks are designed for more top-end riding. If you are gonna be running the bike at the upper rpm range, that's the choice in my book.
The new "longer" stacks offer more bottom-mid rpm power and will meet the old stacks around 10k and stay the same until peak.
This example is on my stock bore/stroke bike but will probably hold true on a 1270 kit.

I have the short stacks on my 1361. Given everything I know I would go for the longer stackes take the better bottom and mid range they give you. Because frankly the 12 seems to top out around 210 hp regardless of what you do until you put it on huice and or a turbo.

Thanks for the info guys.
So the word is the long stacks would be the best? Better low-end without any sacrifice on top-end. Does Vince or anyone have data to back this up?

Muzzys does not make "Long" Stacks. They make 5 mm short and standard length. If I could not get Bear Stacks, then I would buy the Short Muzzys Stacks because they will make more Peak power and the price is not bad either and includes "Delivery"! (Like some one else we all know and love  )
