Ti vs. Stainless exhaust

Okay, so now that I'm garage posin' I've been thinking about the next thing: exhaust systems.

I know there have been many debates as to what brand is best, etc.

But I have a simple question:

Many manufacturers offer Titanium or stainless headers. What factors should I consider when pondering this important question (vs. "should I mess with married women or not?").

I know Ti is lighter than SS but more expensive. But how much weight would I be saving? It is substantial? Any other factors to consider besides cost?

I'm leaning towards SS because of the following: cheaper, and I can put header wrap on the SS to (hopefully) prevent my fairings from getting blistered/warped and reduce heat transfer to my legs during rides (a bit).

The weight difference is significant between the Ti and SS. My TiForce clears the firing perfectly. My Muzzy did not. As for wrapping the system to each their own.

Also as far as price the Muzzy Ti system is pretty reason in price.

I just know that on the box of the exhaust wrap they did not recommend wrapping Ti. So, I haven't done it.

Hey Doug M (or anyone else) what's the weight difference between the Ti and SS exhaust? I've reviewed the posts (from a long time ago) and haven't found anything specific.

Its approximately 5lbs difference between the 2.
No differnace in performance. The Muzzy pipe needs to be "set" correctly when installed. Meaning make sure you align the header spigots with the exhaust ports. Its easy to install it incorrectly.
As far as which metal is better for you...whatever your wallet dictates. Ti is nicer, but its usually 40% more in cost.
