Nope, .I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?
So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly
fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners should not
be allowed to profile certain people. Instead, they should continue
to conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline
pilots with proper identification, Secret Service agents who are members
of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal
hips,
and Medal of Honor winning former Governors.
Lets send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Aldreds
and other dunder-headed attorneys along with Federal Justices that
want to thwart common sense feel doubly ashamed of themselves. As
the writer of the award winning story " Forest Gump" so aptly put it,
"Stupid is as stupid does."

Please, I am really not trying to start anything again (But here I go again), I agree with everything stated above, but the difference is if the answer to "Any" of those questions was 17 to 40 Black Male, I would not be allowed to walk down the street. Worse yet, during wwII, anyone Asian was jailed, Chinese, Korean, Hawaiian, Philipeano, Tai, anyone with Yellow Skin!
The real problem is not looking at these People, but it is what the "Usually White Police "DO" to anyone they stop! They use all of the diplomatic skills they have been taught to handle anyone other than white and beat, kick punch and have the worse cases of Suicide anyone hes ever seen. (People beating themselves up and Choking themselves "ALL While Handcuffed"!
Me personally, I have been stopped in Virginia while riding my Motorcycle and a Bee hit me in the neck. I was pulled over and spoken to (I am not going to give you a ticket he said, but you had both of your hands off the bars"!) until I got my Helmet off and he saw that I was not white and my girl friend was, Threw me against the car, Frisked me, Handcuffed me impounded my bike and left Barbara on the side of the Highway and took me to Jail for Reckless driving! Barbara had to find out where they took me, post bond, find my Bike, get it out, hire an attorney and when we went to court, they refused to charge me with more than "Improper driving" $5.00 and no cost before my attorney could say 1 word! Do you think I became a "Raciest", no, my very next Girl friend was also white and I married one! Some people cannot learn from experience and I guess that is me!
I took you through this because this is how Americans are precieved by others because this is how they also have been treated when innocent and then become what we are now dealing with! I am still a Raciest, (I hate all racial attitudes, Black WHite Arab Jew, all of them), but like the people I like "Inspite" of their Race, never because of it! I hope I can one day share some of my experiences of being in Jail 4 times (Last time facing 2 years between a suspended sentence and the new one) over driving when I was a young Black man growing up in Toledo Ohio and let you see for yourself what it can be like when you are not rich or white!

Paradoxically, I don't like profiling either, and I feel like I need to apologize to those who have been unfairly profiled or treated because of their race, etc. In this case however, I don't know what else to do. When I'm getting on a plane and see a man of Middle Eastern descent, I am automatically concerned and put on alert. I guess I feel like it would be foolish not to be. However, this concern doesn't condone any mistreatment or harassment on anyone's part.

Mega, I am where you are but realized one thing, Like the Boy that cried wolf too many times, the Police and the Courts have messed it up for everybody including them and me! If we do not do anything, we are screwed! If they handle this like they do the Black People, SHort term gain for long term problems! Like Chris Rock said, When I go to the bank and withdraw money, I am not looking for a WHite man to cause me problems. This is terrible for a Black man to admit! I have a friend at work who is 1/2 white and 1/2 Phillipeano. Her brother has been stripped twice (Both ways on a trip to California (in Texas) and refused to fly from Boston where he lives and he is "Good Natured" about it! I suggested he go to the FBI and get cleared to sotp this!
Worse yet is when I took Dave around the Capitol Building and saw the Barriers and could not see the Senate to Congress, That bothered , ME! No Jumping on you because I liked your article and know where you are coming from, I just cannot being the Devil ('s Advocate)

I don't know about being rich, even though I'm white. I do know what it is like to hang out in various crack houses, every day, for nearly four years. You could say I was a speck of salt in a pepper shaker. All not that long ago. I was not an opressive white guy selling death to the blacks. Nor was I part of a CIA plot of bringing in kilos of cocaine to be rocked up into crack. ... I was a "consumer". Plain and simple.
I saw a lot of things that bothered me too. I watch a girl payoff a crack debt by "trading in" her infant child. Only after performing sex acts on some of the people in the room and in front of her other young children. I saw someone die. I had a loaded gun held to my head on numerous occasions... just for being a "cracker" or having a girlfriend who was not white. What I did not see in those four years, was a "victim". Not a single one in the lot.
Prior to that, I spent four years hanging out with rebel flag totin' redneck meth heads. I saw and experienced similar stupidness. I saw no "victims" there, either.
It's been a little over six years since I "taught classes in the metric system" (... a "eight ball" is 1/8 of an ounce... there are 28 grams in an ounce... pausing to pull out my Glock model 20... this ain't an "eight ball"...). Though I should be dead, my Higher Power has something else in mind for me. At least for now.
Is racism dead? Not by any stretch of the imagination. Neither is "blaming" others for the actions of some. What does seem to be dead is personal responsibility. I'll pass on speaking about my jail experiences.
Speaking of "Devil's Advocate", I take it you are not a big fan of Thomas Sowell's, eh Vincent?

Life will never be "Equal or Fair", because it was not designed that way. Even with all that I just went through (I am now talking about 3 doctors and 1 hospital trying to cover up mistakes they made at my life's expense, I have never "Felt" like a Victim because I have made one statement about life that to me will always be true for me, "The worse it is, the Better it is"!
To me, what this means is any problem is an opportunity for me. The Cook or waiter makes a mistake in my order, now I am really going to eat well. Those Doctors tried to kill me (I did die twice, once for 45 minutes on Bypass while they got my heart reatarted), now, Peggy and I may live very well because of it. They give me the wrong accomodations at the Motel, I get a better room for less price. The Airlines mess up and get me there late and I miss connections and leave me in the Middle of no where, I fly 1st Class. This is what I mean!
I am not talking about people like me that can take care of themselves, only the people that are lumped into a group and have no opportunity! I want this considered when large ideas take place because they should not be left out of the equation.
BTW, I have that word Victim, I even hate in on my credit report where it says "Fraud Victim". They had tried, but not cost me a dime yet and I have all of their Phone numbers and addresses where they called each other back & forth when they opened up a cell phone account in my name! i do not know what I am going to do with the information yet, but I do have the information! I am most happy that everyone understood that I was not starting some "Junk" because i am also fustrated that we cannot do more to stop what we all see in front of our eyes because we may offend or take someone's rights. But if it was us, then we could see the other point of view!

Me, I could give a rats ass about what color someone is. I despise racism. If you are an asshole then it doesn't matter what color you are, you are an asshole. Now that being said, I feel we should turn out hate toward Richard Simmons. that is one irritating cocksucker (pardon the pun).

i'm not racist, i hate EVERYONE equally
(kidding)
anyway, this is kinda interesting subject. where i grew up, i never experienced racism. the county was a little small-town sort of deal, 8000 people in entire county. the population was well mixed, and everyone got along. everyone knew everyone else. i like places like that.
when i joined the navy, i was introduced to racism in a big way. talk about a culture shock......i had NEVER heard the 'n' word tossed about like that before, in SERIOUSNESS. yeh, they said it back home about people on welfare with lots of kids and nice cars and such (and it mattered not whether the target was white or black or hispanic, they were all called that)
but man, it was for REAL for some folks.
and not just white on black either, the worst racist i ever met was black guy, and he was prejudiced against black people. beats all i ever saw. he would doubly punish a black person for something, just because. i never understood that man ever.
i have seen it go all different ways, "hey man how was your leave? " "oh it was great!" "really?" "yeh, i didnt have to see a white person the entire time!" (i was amazed...didn't bother asking how his leave was again...)
navy was also the first time i ever encountered the white supremacy types too. scary dudes....i couldn't help wondering how on earth they could think that way, it is truly weird. they didn't care how good a guy was, or how well he worked, or how much effort he put in, if he was not white, he wasn't worth dealing with. amazing....
brings me back to my hometown again. several years ago(prolly 8 or so) a white deputy shot a black man and killed him. the Jesse Jackson types showed up and started raising cain....the whole racist cops thing and all. funny thing was, one of the people they were soliciting to protest publicly ran them off. he told them to get lost, that 'n' deserved to get shot.
when i see people working together regardless of race and beliefs, people riding bikes together, again regardless of race etc, it restores my faith in people being able to eventually do some of what is right.
people need to wake up and realize we are all in this together. i can't understand why people feel the need to belittle and degrade another person solely on their looks and features. that is something they cannot change, so why hold it against them??
