problem mpg
hi guys, so i bought a 2000 zx12r about 7 months ago. i havent got to ride it in that time other than a mile here and there. i am fully legal to ride again and love this machine. only problem that im having is im getting 18 mpg and the battery dies time to time. ive put a speedo healer on it ( previous owner changed rear sprocket ) and a rear lowering kit, and led blinkers and tail light. i live in montana and its my understanding the bike is from the south originally. ive never had a bike with fuel injection, is there jet, what would make this such a gas mongrol? i would appreciate any ideas or help.

Try some new plugs n clean filter, recheck mileage, no jets, is there a pc3 on it?

as far as i know there is no powercommander on this bike. ive taken all the body panels off to paint it, havent seen any mods. if this bike had one were does it plug in, maybe i can back track from there? ill try new plugs and filter this weekend .rode today and has a horrible lag at 5500rpm, bike just feels like it died, just before 5500rpm smooth, past 5500rpm great, right at 5500rpm absolutely nothing. sure appreciate the help, any more ideas are welcomed.

you say you havent ridden it much, how old is the gas in the tank?

im on my third tank now. im using 91 octane, highest were im at. any of you try the e3 spark plugs? trying them tomorrow. good time to check airfilter, check and clean throttle bodies and fuel filter if i can find it.

I don't remember exact mileages but mine had full exaust pc3 with a good tune and it got terrible mpg.In it's defense i will say i was almost always on the gas hard but even cruising on trips with my brothers on busas it was still worse than there's.

Pc3r with 3degreea advance, bmc street filter,and i had put new plugs in.
