Something I just noticed... check out the gap between the tire and the end of the lower fairing.

Test results from this weekend...

I think I'm almost there.

Last weekend, I was taking jonwright and two of our other riding buddies up to Arkansas' "Holy Grail" of twisties (AR341). I figured that this would be the best place to test the new arm. When jonwright and I got to the AR341 junction, we stopped and waited for the other two. One of them is much faster then I and the other was just about as fast as me. When they did not show up after just a few minutes, we knew something had to be wrong.

We were right.

It turned out that one of our buddies hit some gravel in one of the previous corners and went off the road, flipping his CBR600. Luckly, he was not seriously injured (thanks to full leathers) and amazingly, the only damage to his bike was a broken footpeg bracket and the right mirror broke off. Thanks to his frame sliders and the fact the bike was in the air while it did a complete flip, not a single piece of plastic was damaged.

My day of testing was officially over since I had to go the quickest route (3 hours & 155 miles) home to get my trailer. We did not get to ride AR341. Eleven hours after the accident (around 3 am Monday morning), jonwright and I were unloading both the CBR and it's limping pilot from my "rescue rig". Luckly, both will recover in a short time.

Tomorrow, another riding buddy of mine wants to go out and finish breaking in his new R1. Hopefully, I can get jonwright to join us, so we can swap 12R and I can get his opinion. If not, I'll try to hook up with jonwright on Sunday. The only bad part about that is that it will be Easter Sunday and every "Billy Bob and Bobby Sue" will be out on the back highways that day.

Most of my "report" is already written, as well as most of the pics have been uploaded. I plan on wrapping up both the testing and the "report" this weekend.

Thank you, GOZR and congratulations to Michel and friends.

In reality, I think I'm basically at the same place almost any new 12R owner is when they are trying to sort out their suspension. In other words, all the "parts" are there, it's just setting them up in a way that take full advantage of what it can do. Since I had never found that "perfect for everything" setting with the old configuration, it'll probably be like that with the new one. It's just that this one is a "better starting point" then the original.
