Tires !!!

I need to know....

What is the REAL WORLD mileage that I can expect,
out of my tires ????

My 12R is approx. 3 mos. new, and 1000 miles...

With the stock Dunlop's, I have heard to expect 3000
miles....

I am all "ears"

3000 is a good number. I've got as much as 7500, and as little as 2500, depending on how hard I rode. My Bridgestones have lasted much, much longer.

Tars you say...

I got 6500 miles out of my first 207 rear and the front was about 2/3 worn. I've replaced both with BT010's. -ZXtra

Got about 5,000 out of the first set. That included the break-in miles. So your second set want last that long.

For 207s. Bout $220 for a set of BT010s.

My Rear Lasted 6 Weeks

And had had less than 2000 miles on it. My front made it through the summer but had nothing left on it; looked almost like a slick, and I got almost 5000 miles on it.

Check the places like Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse (MAW) and StarCycle for prices, they're pretty good and will match prices. Competition Accessories is OH will ship and match prices if they have them in stock. Shop around, $350 a set is high for 207s and $220 sounds about right.

Too bad none of "y'all" are here in Phoenix....
No winterizing necessary.

Just mounted #7 rear

I went to BT 010 on the front already. This is the first 010 to go on the rear. It's the first time I used my $35. harbor freight tire machine ($35 + 19.99 for mtcy attachment)it worked better than the motorcycle shops tire machine!!

BT-010s RULE

I got less than 2K out of the 5 (I'm a REAL slow learner) 207s I used this year. 'Course with all of the straight roads down here all of that mileage was in the center of the tire, HUGE chicken strips. Changed to the 010's about 1 month before the GAP2 and I have yet to change them. Stickier then hell too.

You girls must ride like a bunch old women. I only got 1,500 miles out of my stock tire. I have an Avon on now and got 700 miles on it and I doubt if I can get 700 more out of it. You guys must never twist the throtle the whole way! You bitches can take the bike over 4,000 rpms. Don't be afraid to spin the rear wheel.

BT010

Well we all started with the D207's, most including myself will tell you the 010's are better and last longer.

Our lady of blessed acceleration, don't fail us now.

D207 lasted 1500(1000 running in, 500 mental), 010's that are on it now are fucked, there's 3200 showing on the clock. The BT's are a far superior tyre!!!!.

I ALSO HAVE ABOUT 1000 MILES ON D207 AND THEY ARE STARTING TO SHOW THE WEAR. I JUST COMPARED THEM WITH MY BUDDIES WHO JUST PUT A NEW PAIR ON HIS BLACKBIRD AND YOU CAN REALLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE. THIS IS MOSTLY 1000 BREAKIN MILES SO I DON'T THINK I'M GOING TO GET MORE THEN ANOTHER 500 ON THEM BEFORE ITS GARBAGE TIME. I RWALLY DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS BUT I GUESS ITS TRUE THIS FUCKIN THING WILL EAT TIRES.

Absolutly, it eats tires, but so did my Busa. 1300 miles on each of two 207 rears was all I could get. Went to Pilot Sports---great tire--better lean in-- dont know about the wear yet, but they were expensive as hell.
