Best Rear and Best Front stands for the '12
I know this question has been asked before, but its been a while and their may be new products out that were not available a year ago. You guys have finally got me comfortable with working on the '12 (for most normal maintanence) - so I'm going to need a decent front and rear stand for my baby. Who likes/dislikes what? What should I consider buying and why? Thanks all (now I get to use my new AIR TOOLS on the '12, not just my car!!)

I have had the front and rear handy stands for a while now. I still say you can't beat the price. $99 for both the front and the rear. The rear works great, but you would need something else up front if you wanted to swap out the forks.

If you have to have 1 stand....make it the PitBull newfront stand

Here is DaveinDaytona's bike featured on the site.

Worth every penny of the $150 asking price! The rear stand is worth it too, especially when you get the reversible supports

By the way, I suggest putting spools on your swingarm and buying the spool-type rear stand. The universal sucks big green donkey dick.

Pit Bull Stands
I've got the same stands as Dave. They are great, no complaints here. The attachment for the front stand is great when you have to do any fork work. They are reasonably priced IMHO, especially when you consider the quality you're getting.

What makes the Pit Bulls so great are the good construction that lends to stability of the bike while on the stands (it doesn't sway and move around).
I have Lockhart Phillips stuff - but whatever you buy get the spool type for the rear (again, for stability) and the kind for the front that goes inside the triple clamp (like what is featured here for the pit bulls).
A friend of mine has the universal Handy stands and I don't trust them - the rear end slides around on the stand (not confidence inspriing) and every time you touch the bike it sways and moves on those stands.
Don't trust 'em.
Generally, and it's true here, you get what you pay for.

Pit Bull is generally consider the best stands on the market, I have both front and rear Hindle stands they are very stable and about half the cost of the Pitbulss.

One of my buudies bought a TI Hindle stand. It it great. With the bobbin supports of course.
I have a set of the Handy's. Front is not stable to me. I usually have help if I am going to use the front one just in case it starts to slip. I used it on a 6R last week and the points on the stand need to be smaller to catch the bottom of the forks. Mine has slipped off of the rear three times while I
was on it trying to adjust some things. Been lucky not to tear anything up so far..... Absolutely worth $100 IF that is all you can afford and IF you are careful while using them. I have the universal pads, but they have Bobbin supports available.
Handy also has a headstock support stand. It looks like a Pit Bull, which are definitley good. No need to discuss the Pit Bulls....

Woodcraft also builds a good front stand.

I have the lockhart front steering stem stand. The stand has bent down after only a few uses. Defective? I called lockhart and they said the ZX12 is too heavy for it. I bought it because they advertise it with a ZX12 on it in the picture and I wanted a stand that would clear the snorkel. Warranty? Not on your life with lockhart! I ended up welding extra supports to the brace that goes to the lower triple.
From what I've learned, go with the Pit Bull !

Man that picture of my bike on the Pit Bull seems old. One of the reasons it's there is because of the pin change with the 2002. I was sent a new pin to test for sizing and shot the pics to show how happy I was .
Pit Bull are solids stands and they stand behind them. The one on the front of my bike can be use as a fork lift or with the pin converter as it's pictured. The rear can be used as spooled or flipped for a bike without spools. Very good features.
Oh, here are some more current photos:
