Stupid Air shifter question
On the cylinder itself there are two ends for the fittings. Now I assumed this was so you can make the system a push system or a pull system. I am all good with that. BUT on the end you do not use what do you put there? I was told to just leave it open but if junk got in the cyclinder I would think it could screw up the rubber o-ring in there. Right? What are you guys using on the exhaust side of that cylinder?

You can go to your local supply store that handles hydraulic fittings a get a screw in filter if your worried about contamination.

Leave it open- the filter will slow it down.

Your right Doug, I had to pull one off, it was clogged and was messing up the shifting.

"Some" filters/mufflers don't slow it down enough to matter...I've had one on by personal race bike for MANY years...
It IS better to run without one though...if you can't find one that isn't too restrictive...
Makes me wonder what in the world "clogged" yours hotrod???

I checked it out (I work in a lab) and it appears to be some kind of fine fibers. I don't know where they came from in the system, possibly the pump. The one I put on was pretty small, I didn't have room for a large one. My own fault.
