1/4 Mile Times
Today I took my 2003 ZX12 to the track and ran in the 10.30 I drove it to the track and ran it. That is stock, Not strapped down and coming off the line easy. If I change the sprockets will I get better times? If so should I go 1 down in the front and up 1 in the rear ( that's sounds a little gay ). I was shifting at 11,000 RPM What RPM should I be shifting at?
Thanks

Strap the front down and shift at redline (the tach reads low anyway). Gearing will not make as much difference as lowering, and in fact would most likely be useless without lowering. (unless your a TFA member)

Shift as close to redline as you feel comfortable. I used to shift at 11K and it took a couple of tenths off when I shifted closer to 11.5K. If you strap the front, that's another few tenths. If you go 1 down in the front and up two in the rear (yeah, that does sound gay), you'll most likely go into the 9's.
Good luck!
