Who is going to Maxton in the spring for top speed runs?
I intend to go and see how fast I can go.I'll try for the OFB record (Old Fat Bastard).I'm hoping kevin cat boy will be going with me.I stopped by there last month and met Dtd Scrd (bergie).Hopefully quite a few 12 owners will make it.It looked like a good time with as many runs as you want to do , at least thats the way it seemed to me.

Harry,
There will be several of us from here going for sure.
Zack's record was broken in June but Chad's is still good for the year. Gonna see how the 12 will do with the boys on it, of course I gotta make some passes too!
You asked about them riding yours when I saw ya in Gainesville. Both said yes but Zack may be riding the same Busa again (Lord forgive me) and we can't have a conflict of interest!!! :-)

Berg will be there
Harry,
You already know that I will be there! I went to both the September 2001 and October 2001 ECTA events, and it was awesome.
Hope to see more of you guys there in 2002.

Salty will probably be there. Haven't talked to him in a couple weeks.
He's gonna kill me for posting this, but this ran in the local paper just after he set a new record at Bonneville a couple months back. Modesty, sheesh.

Maxton vs. Bonneville
The difference between Maxton and Bonneville is about 4 miles since Maxton is a standing-start 9/10ths of a mile you need to launch harder to get up to speed as quickly as possible. I managed 185.95 with a 10+ MPH headwind at the October event, which wasn't bad considering another ZX12R owner who had a 205rwhp 1270 bike managed a best of 187 MPH at the same event. My bike makes 167 RWHP.

If you GO..
If you do goto Maxton; try and pit near the other ZX12 owners so we can all hook up. Personally I stay at the lodge recommended by ECTA in Laurinburg which is about 5 miles from the track (airport), along with many of the other participants.
