Looked at Swfts new toy today. It might take a hour or two to wipe the drool off of it but it will be ok. My puppy wanted a ride and swft turned him down!

aw, with all the talk about gas guzzling & poltics, swft felt bad & switched to an economy car was just lookin at the vettes at a local GM dealership in passing a few days ago, & was surprised at how reasonably priced they were, esp the z06! the conv was about $81,000. the 50th anniv edition ($6000 of badges & "special colour") was $79,000. the brand new z06.. only $78,000! wtf is with that? WHY would anyone buy either of the other 2? ok, i can see the convertible i suppose. but still i was pretty damn surprised at the price. that come sout to about $51,000 US btw. course that was askin price, so i imagine u could haggle a few grand off it yet.

Congrats swft! You finally did it. You won't regret it. I have to have a coupe because I can take the top off and I leave it off all summer. It looks like you got the HUD, you won't understand why all cars don't have them. Except HUD windshields go for about 3k so make sure your insurance has a windshield buy back. I have to replace mine (again) but I am going to wait till summer. You wont believe how nice an everyday driver it really is. I have never been more comfortable on a long trip than in that car. Awesome dude. It would be faster if it were green.

Bahaha! Hey, everyone knows silver is faster! The color has a higher temperature! Yep, this is the exact car I ordered in 2001! Vette allocations to dealers is quite the byzantine enterprise. Not only does geographical location figure in, but the dealer has to sell a minimum number of cars to get a Z06.

I have to admit I have tried every wax on the the planet, and this stuff beats the shit out of all of them. Best part there is no greasy wax in it.

many years back i wanted to get into car racingl IP type stuff. took the course, got my race license, had a datsun i wanted to race (very popular cars for those kinds of series). anyhow, had a 280zx (more of a touring car), and a 240z (definitely more racy). wanted to fully build the 240 & trailer it to races on teh 280. it's still something i'd like to do today. i think it would be trippy, not to mention fuggin hilarious! course, i think the ultimate would be to trailer, say a race prepper F50 behind a street F50, or something of that caliber. fuck, i'd be laughin so hard the whole time i'd prolyl be blinded by tears & crash the things.

Went to the local track today, drove autocross for about 7 hours. I'm wore out! Nothing like a heavy rain and hail to teach you throttle control.

BTW, if none of you have tried autocross, you should! All you learn and practice there applies to street driving. And you don't have to have a throwdown car to do it, just go out and have fun. But a throwdown car is ... nice.

Took Swfts new Vette for a drive today. Damn thing has to be broken in (under 3500 rpm) for 500 miles. So here I am at a light with 408 miles on it and a damn Acura big exhaust pipe wannabe racer boy next to me. The light turns green and the kid is off to the races. I was a good boy and cruised the hill to the next light. At the next light up comes another Honda wannabe racer boy! The light turns green I shift at 3500 rpm into 2nd, into 3rd into 4th and it's over.The first victim is handled at 3500 rpm's and less!!!
So at the very least I can claim the first victory in Swfts new machine!!
