A local genius for sure!!

Story line is kind of messed up on the link..... but this is what it says in short.

Motorcycle passd a car at high rate of speed. Tried to merge in too quick and clipped the front of the car. Skid 800 feet down the road and ditch (as measured by the State Police!) and finally came to rest. Driver in stable condition.

The kicker....this fool wasn't wearing a helmet and has NO BROKEN BONES at all. Lost a lil skin, though. One of my buddy's wife is a nurse in the ER. She said he is pretty skinned up. Fool is lucky to be alive for sure....

From what the nurse said, it'll be gauze bandage and Neopsporin for quite a while.......

Funny thing I found out today, he also wrecked the bike two weeks ago!!

Every summer I notice the "Wrecking Yard" @ Cycle Barn is bursting @ the seams, and everytime I wonder why there are so many wrecked bikes. Perhaps they should step up the requirements for getting a license? What should we add to the list?
1) IQ > ?
2) T/F is it ok to race in traffic?
3) T/F You don't need to worry about the police because
they can't catch you.
3) Is it necessary to prove how stupid you are everytime you ride?
4) T/F The space between the double yellow lines is for motorcycles to use when passing, especially around corners.
5)

...........
I'm too busy @ the moment to come up with more, but it might be fun to add to the list

4) Which is the best riding gear
a ) shorts/t-shirt and flip flops
b ) PAM Original non-stick spray
c ) leather pants/leatherjacket full face helmet
d ) NA - I ride what I want when I in whatever I want!
5) T/F "Speed Limit" signs apply only to cars, not to motorcycles
6) T/F The best way to "pick up chicks" is to ride by them on one wheel at 140 mph
7) When obtaining your motorcycle license for the first time, it is a good idea to wait how long before riding with a passenger
a) WAIT? why wait? I gots to get my biotch on!
b) 20 minutes - it takes a LEAST that long to get home
c) About 6 months or so
8) T/F Motorcycle helmets are for wussies/dorks/turd burglers

Thats it for now.

You know, I have a neighbor that's NEVER EVEN RIDDEN A BICYCLE and guess what his FIRST bike is....

A Kawi 7R. Yep. He won't lean it over in the turns for shit (he's afraid he'll fall off).

NOW he's talking crap about getting a 12R!

I get on his ass all the time...

"Have you taken an MSF class yet??? You need to do that!"

"Dood, don't get a 12."

Guys like that make hood hornaments.

I'm rather thinking the Europeans might have something with the whole qualification thing. They take driving seriously over there in general.

Now, Stepping up in classes like they make you do may not apply here, but at least limiting riders to smaller bikes at the get go might prevent guys from insisting on buying Busas for their first bikes.

I think it's the Hurt report that said that 80% of motorcycle wrecks are riders that don't have their endorsements (i.e. dumbasses that don't take it seriously and just get on one).

I think an MSF course should be mandatory for getting an endorsement.

'Course, I also know that you just can't legislate away stupidity...

I agree with the tiered licenses!! I had a 125 dirt bike, then a 250 street bike, a 400, a 600, then up to a 750, then a 9, then a Busa, then the 12...always stepping up, ya know!
I can hear the people griping about new laws, especially the older soon to be retired geezer that goes out and buys an 88 ci Harley. Then wonders why he can't get a motorcycle license? Not as dangerous as the 18 and 19 year olds who've never ridden and buy an R1 or Gixx and try to learn on them. But, the older riders will usually have their wives to suffer with them if they crash.
I got my motorcycle endorsement when I was 21 I think. Had one of my budies ride the bike up there for me. A few stop and goes and a figure 8 after passing the written test and I was ready.
