.....well really it is stuck in there. any clues or help before I destroy it trying to get out.

pics? BMCs always seem to go in fine for me, its the shitty K&Ns that are problem. Remove the inspection plates below and you should have better access.

BMC`s are the best fitting filters IMO.....Maybe someone didn`t grease them up good before install......Once you get them out,grease the sides up real good and should slide right in.....

Thanks Shiphteey and Paul for the input...I went to the garage in the middle of typing this and worked it out. It was the K&N filters not the Bmc's ....am going to grease them up good going back in. The seal was unbelievable, just didnt want to destroy it.

Ya those flimsy rubber tabs you pull on will tear off pretty easily if not careful.....
Get a set of BMC`s if you can....Built pretty tough,and nothing to tear either.......

BMC filters
! am thinking of switching over from the K&N's to the BMC's. For the people who have them, Do you perfer the regular ones or the "race" filters?

I'm switching over from K&N's and am a little concerned about how well the race filters filter out the fine dirt. Also, If I would need to re map.
