My Lady loves riding on the back of my ZX11D , and when I first seen the new ZX1200R I thought gotta have one , then I thought shit she will never want to ride on the back of this beast , so when the new bike showed up at the dealership we went and checked it out we both sat on the beast and the first thing my girl said was no way this sucks back here look where my knees are ! and where's the grab rail ?, I use when you brake hard. The salesman then said this bike really wasn't designed for two up riding he then stated that anyone who wants to ride on the back of this machine would have to be nuts in the first place , so this is my main reason for not buying the new ZX12 , my ZX11 is in mint condition with low mileage and I can ride for hours with the wife on the back without any complaints she also used to like my ZX10 ...

my girl has rode on the 12 several times, if your girl can lean on you she will love it. hell Im short and can suport her for a couple hours befor it starts to bother my arms but at your hieght you'll barly be bent over & you can get the ajustable triple tree or heli-bars. just be ready for the fingernails to start digging in around 150ish. its no goldwing but somtimes you have to make sacrifices. I almost got a ZRX 1100 now 1200 but only cause I like it. passenger comfort would only be a bonus and as far as getting her a bike of her own unless she has rode extensivly off rode like every day for 5yrs dont do it when she can wheelie her dirt bike thru 5 gears then think about it. I dont like me out there with 20+ yrs expierince!

Replaced my passanger pegs with a Dino hanger. The 79X and the 78Z1R have back pegs on.

My wife started riding with me back when I got my first "big" bike, a new '72 350 Honda!! After almost 30 years and over a dozen bikes she enjoys the 12 about as good as any of them. Since she sits up high, our helmets don't bang during sudden stops. It's not been her best (FJ 1100) or her worst (Sportster) ride, but since were still cruising together she loves it!

It is so cool to hear everyones opinion, It is funny how they vary so much from one person to another, this will help me alot in my decision. The fact is I will probably buy the 12r cause me being comfortable is most important since she won't be on it near as often as I will. She is the type that loves acceleration and the rush so she would dig short FAST rides. Even on my VFR she would get so excited during blasts down the freeway onramp.....I'll buy my 12, do a little off road training with her and before you know it she'll be smokin' me on the street!

With the wife on back, the 12 wheelies real well. In fact, it wheelied good enough last time that I had to go home and get the truck before she'd leave with me after we finally stopped. Since then I took off the rear pegs and leave the rear seat cowl on. No more joy rides for anybody....except ME!!

It ain't happenin'
Hell, I can bearly control the bike with just me on it! There ain't no way I could carry someone on back. As a matter of fact, My rear pegs have been removed and I have Dino's pipe hanger replacing the right peg bracket. That's just so I don't get stupid and actually thing I oughta carry someone back there. The point is, the reason why I don't carry anyone is more me then the bike. I just don't want to chance it.
OKAY... OKAY.... and I don't have a wife or a girlfriend (not counting my 12R) either! There! You happy now?

LMFAO, He got ya there Red. I had a time trying to keep up to Harry with Travis on the back down at the Gap so don't say it can't be done. My wife rides a ZR7, but when I do have a passenger(we take the kids along) I ride the ZRX.
