Dont want to be mistaken for being American these days when travelling?

Does this happen to you? You're an average looking white guy and you're travelling. You're not American and the last thing you want is for someone to "accidentally mistake" you for a member of the world's largest evil empire? ...... Then simply visit this website and they can help you out .....

Personally, I'd rather stand and fall with all my brothers who bravely fought and died for freedom rather than spit on their graves and betray myself and my country. I'm not proud of everything my country does, but I would die before I betrayed it.

As for the rest of the world, they'll be there when they need us, and you can take that to the bank.

Anyone living in this country that isn't proud to be an American should do something about it and go to another country that has not and is not benefitting from their association with America.

Here is another Canadian point of view.

While my sister was traveling in Europe, she found that many Americans desgised themselves as Canadians. lolololol

Good thing she is like me, she called them on it and they failed their history, their geography and their language! lololol

Even though I am related to some Americans and I have American friends (hence all you folk on bikeland) I still think your Goverment is like all Goverments, curupt and crooked.

Yep, it is. But it still beats the hell out of anyplace else I've ever heard of.

And I can go on tv and complain about my government, I can start a newspaper and write bad things about them all I want, with little real worry that someone will kick in my door in the middle of the night to take me away.
Try that in Iraq, or to a lesser extent many other places such as even Canada. I saw a thing on tv yesterday which talked about a guy who was prosecuted for a felony in Canada for writing that the Holocaust didn't happen. Is it in bad taste? Undeniably, but I support his right to spout off about it. Clearly the Candian govt. doesn't.

I'm Damn proud to be from the USA and piss on anyone who doesn't like it, or us.

No offense to our Canadian friends here, but (there's always a but) I've been spending a lot of time in Canada lately and watching the news there last night made me want to puke. The two big stories seemed to be that Canada was sending up to 2,000 troops to Afghanistan for a peace keeping mission and that would be a good way to keep them from actually seeing any conflict in Iraq. They were so proud of that clever plan to avoid getting involved.

The other one I saw played over and over was Chretien saying he didn't know where Bin Laden was but he would phone him when he got home and ask him. Ha ha ha. I know Canadians that would like to see him go away so I can't hold that against anyone, it's just him.

I wear my US flag on my lapel when I go through customs and it's probably why they give me such a rash of shit every time I'm there. I am proud to be from the USA and part of that pride is allowing anyone to be proud of where you're from. If you love your country that's cool with me, but don't try to pump yourself up by putting us down.

We take more shit from more people than anyone, but if things get rough in your neighborhood who would you want to be there to back you up ?

Geez, I usually let the political points slide, must be the cold and snow getting to me.

fish, sassy...

...I'm not sure what to think of all this...I consider some of you Canadians my friends, yet in light of all that has happened on Sept 11 and all that continue to happen, some of you guys act as if its some kind of joke...and its starting to piss me off...what, just because 09/11 didn'ty happen in your country?...we as free nations are in this fight together against terrorism... aren't we?...

...so what if some American abroad identified themselves as Canadians as a method of self preservation...some people did that in past wars, too...were they cowards or less patriotic?...maybe these Americans, through no fault of their own, aren't equiped to handle some situations as some Americans might...some people are rightly afraid and don't know what else to do, some aren't and could give a shit about what people think of them...these Americans will fight the fight if the fight is brought to them...

...so now you think its funny that your sister 'called them on it' for 'failing' and not representing themselves as American...what's it to you or anyone?...are you actually laughing at someone's genuine fear?....at their 'guilt by association' just for being an innocent American that terrorists want to do harm to?...are all Americans such bad people?...and you think genuine fear is funny?...I will fight for the innocent who don't know how to fight...no matter what country they're from...

...just as the very nature of our democracy and our way of life made it possible for the terrorist to easily enter our country and destroy hundreds upon hundreds of lives on 09/11, don't sit so smug and think that (it) can never, ever happen in your country...

...envy can lead to destruction...ask the terrorists...

...I WILL NEVER EVER FORGET WHAT HAPPPENED ON 09/11...EVER!!!

wildman, that would be Doug Collins. Very controversial writer who served in ww2 (i believe) fomr his home country of england. immigrated to canada LONG time ago. anyway, he argued often that the holocaust has been exagerated. dont think he's ever claimed it didnt happen. but some people, obviosuly jewish associations in particular, didnt take that too well and put alot of pressure against him. the legal action that was brought against him was under hate/discrimination laws, but in the end they were beat down (rightly so imho). he wasnts hateful actually, he just called it as he saw it, on all sides of an issue, and alot of people cant take that. i never saw him write anything without explaining his reasoning & facts/evidence, so i for one appreciated him. he wrote for the local paper where i live, until 97. unfortunately he passed away just last year if i remember correctly.

but i dont think that particular case was indicative of canadian law. it was jsut a higher profile version of all those stupid frivolous lawsuits you have to put up with in america (like the burgler sueing the house owner for not de-icing the front steps). it DOES however say something about our political scene, as there is a heavy leaning towards protecting people's rights to be free from unwanted exposure over protecting people's rights to say/do whatever they want. it's more a protectionist political climate that an emancipated one (for lack of better terms).

as to canada's involvement (or lack thereof) in this war, there is definitely a general attitude of "just stay out of it" from what i'v seen. not really surprising tho, since that very policy has served the country very well over the last 100+ years. few countries dislike canada as a country (cept spain cause they were stealing all our fish & we didnt just roll over & play dead) because we dont flex our muscles. of course, thats alot easier to do when ur 1/10th the size of the world's only superpower. i tend to argue that the US would be in a much better position if they followed a similar foreign policy, but even that is questionable cause the US position as superpower means people would come after you anyway, because of jealousy or jsut for the same reasons as a pan handler asks a suit for spare change. as usual, theres jsut no good answer.

I am from the norht and spent lots of time In canada as a kid and as an adult...( that reminds me I still need to pay OPP for my ticket)...hehhe

But I have to say, agree with the canadian government...no, so I agree with the US government...no

But I disagree more with the people across the seas that think they can intimidate my fellow americans. I refuse to stand by and watch terrorists, get away with murder...but they are...

Canada has been great in the past about staying out of the politics and contreversy around the world, where are the US sticks its big nose in everyones buisness. Than puts us in the light so the terrorists pick us. What is going to happen when we stiffen up our restrictions and make it difficult to Terrorize us, they will turn to someone like Canada that thinks they arent suseptable, because they dont interfere....

I love Canada, and I love the US..they are good example of what can be of a country when its peoples are proud and fight for what is right...the time for fighting is at hand again.....and the US needs help from its neighbors and allyies arond the world...If the world doesnt stick together on this, the one left holding the bag is in big trouble...It wont be the US...who will it be????

Sassy:Speaking of Americans that go to different countries, many did during the Viet Nam war. The cowards went to Canada to hide among their piers.
My father is the first child in his family not born in Canada. The "family" up north told me as a high school student with a draft card in my wallet I was always welcome to come "visit" them if need arose.
I politely told them that thank you but no thanks, the jungles and rice pads of Viet Nam with my friends is where I would be if I was called upon.
I couldn't understand it then, and I still don't get it.

There is no honor hiding behind your friends, only honor standing along side them.
It still must not be a Canadian thing.

Fish: I think you need to pull your head out of your ass, I really regret seeing you call the USA the "worlds largest evil empire".
Hopefully you were only jesting and trying to liven up this board a bit.
As a true proud American I forgive the indiscretion with which you spoke. (this time)

The world loves to call us a lot of names, but we are the one name they call when they need help, economic or military. They are very fortunate to have a friend that will respond and not let the true evil of this world have their way with them.

HDL: Thanks for being there from all of us that are proud to be AMERICAN.
