quick zx12 question
does gen 1 parts swap or interchange with gen 2 motor parts like will a crank from an 05 fit into an 01

alt rotor, stator, cam pickup, motor mounts (therefore heads), and oil pumps are diffferent. i think thats about it

the 05 crank will fit but you will need to use the stator and crank pos sensor rotor from the 01

looks like everything is coming together OK .. should have it up and running by tomorrow evening . I'm going to used the 05 wiring harness and ecu .. trying to use as much 05 stuff as possible.. found the reason the 01 went to shit ..somebody miss match the oil pump gears using an 01 outer and a 02 inner ..which broke the ears off the shaft and fried the motor ..

started it up today .. had the same out come broke the oil pump shaft again .. i shut it down before any damage .. but WTF .. This was a match used gears.. order a new set and will try again in a week ..

put all brand new parts in it and it work like a champ ...bike really sounds good . even with 06 zx14 injectors ..

yes they are ..i put a set from an 06 zx14 into 05 zx12 throttle bodies ... from what i've read and learnt ...the 05 zx12 are 390cc and the 06 zx14 are 440cc..
