FI Question

if I understand it correctly the 12's FI cuts fuel at 5.5K RPM and above at 0 % throttle. My bike bucks quite a bit if I'm in that range and let off/on the throttle. Isn't there anything that can be done about this so that the FI doesn't cut fuel till much higher in the rpm range? I have added lots of fuel from 0% and 5.5K up but it doesn't help much. I would think Muzzy's or someone could devise something to fix this???

yes a Muzzy's set to around 4-5 deg and a full Hindle.

Is the bike geared at all?
Did you try taking some timing out?

Personally I ride around with less than 5000 rpm. Perhaps staying out of this range will at <10% throttle?
Is the bike mapped?

Mantis, I'm sorry to say but there is no real fix for this that I've seen yet short of replacing the ECU with a Muzzy unit or similar.

I had been working on a "backfeed" type system that would parallel the signal to the injectors but I started a large project in september and couldnt devote the time to fully develop the system.

I believe the reason the ECU does this is for the EPA. I can see no other reason they would do such a thing.

Some people have over fueled the maps so that when the injectors cut back in, the power comes on "soft" and you percieve it to be "fixed".
Cliff Randal first sugested this as a fix for this problem back in july of 2001 or so. While it is a bandaid to the problem, and it might stop a highside, its not a proper fix. But preventing a highside is the best reason for doing it.

You could move your tp sensor to trick the ecu into thinking that you don't ever completely close the throttle. The injectors shouldn't ever go off then and you could use a Power Commander/Yosh EMS to fix the rest of the map that you just messed up by doing that.

I have a 17 front and stock rear. I like the idea of adjusting the TPS - what do ya think I should move it too? The bike was mapped by Kevin Cadby at Mild to Wild(he did an excellent job BTW).
