Early & Late Clutch Baskets Backing Plates?

I just went through another problem today where FedEx tried to charge me for a 152 pound Package to Falicon and then changed it from 2 days to priority over night! Good for me that Falicon keeps good records and faxed to me a copy of the airBill that showed 8 pounds and that someone had slapped a overnight sitcker over the 2 day section (The pealed back the sticker and it showed 2 day delivery)

What ever I did, I am not doing it again! Everyone that I deal with is messing up BIG TIME! The Bill was for $182, and it is resolved now.

While looking at Falicon's paperwork, I noticed the words "Early Billet". Of course being me, I called and asked why I got the early and not the latest one? Dave said that the backing plates on the first 12's had 2 short springs, 2 springs a little longer and 1 longer yet spring.

Then Kawasaki changed the backing plate to the clutch basket in 2001 to 4 long springs and 1 short spring. So of course the relief are different to allow for the springs. He then stated that they just got a 2002 in the other day and see that Kawasaki is back to the earlier design!

I do not know what all of this means, but I thought it was interesting.

One short note, my wife (PurpleSage) is really not a saint! It is me that has to put up with her

Who said I was going to let her look around again? I must have had something to do with the Space Shuttle? I think my stuff goes in 6's, not 3's. Even when I took her car to the wash, the Foam brush did not work and the spot free rinse did not work either. I am adding all of this up to see if I am setting a new record? With no arm to work on yesterday, I at least had time to clean her car, clean my PIECE 0 TRASH 320I and replace the Exhaust to Maniflod gaskets, plus I now know why the accelerator pedel is leaning to the right? No Floor under it, all rusted out. After all of the money I spent to buy this car $100, plus paid the owner $50 an hour to make it run to get it home, $600 more. It will pass inspection and have driven it to Ohio a few times, so it really owes me nothing.

Plus I had time left over to install the Muzzy clutch. That went smoothly until I dropped the electric drill I was using to run the screws in. The Drill hit the pan with the springs I had left over and sent the bolts everywhere. Found everythin except 1 spring! (Personally, mu fuse is short right now because I just paid close to 6K to 5 experts to depose them for my case and 2K to the attorney handling my mother's estate and will be everywhere but work for the next few weeks. I really need Daytona this year. Nice to have a "friend" that forced up to take his place SR 400 by williamson Blvd) for 2 weeks and flat refused to take a dime!

The 2000-01s have 6 large springs and the 2002- have 3 large and 3 small.
He pointed it out to me at Gainesville as the one on display was an early model. No big difference. Both are interchangeble. (Franks words)
