Motorcycle.com reviews BikerBoyz

They don't seem impressed. You'd think a motojournalist could spell hayabusa....well, I would without further ado:

Sounds like it will do the same thing the fast & furious did for rice burners. I just keep thinking I should invest in used parts and Skin grafts! This movie is going to fuck up a whole lot of people this summer.

...the problem with fictional stories is that it has to have some kind of drama otherwise its just a documentry...and the movie industry says, "who wants to watch a documentry?...let em' watch history channel if they want facts"...the one's in the know about the sport call it bullshit...the general audience looking is for breath-taking visual excitment (after their breath is sucked outta' them for the $7.50 ticket and the $00.50 candy that costs $5.00 at the snatchbar) and could care less about what's real or not...

...even docu-dramas the likes of "On Any Sunday" or "Longest Summer" have some silliness to it, but at least it has REAL people doing REAL riding (no offense to stunt riders out there unless the story line is about you)...

...so what does the movie industry do to get a larger return for their investment?...they jack up the real stuff with 'incredibly stupid stuff' ie. back stories, drama, gratuitous sex scenes (but that's ok...especially lesbian love/sex scenes ), or fantastic Matrix-style manuevers that defy physics (except for what the lesbians can do to each other...in the interest of science, of course )...

...but you and I both know that if they made a cool docu-drama about Kenny Roberts, Mick Doohan, Wayne Rainey, Kevin Schwantz, the factory teams, the builders, the aftermarket, and all the motorcycle gods of past and present, we'd be there and couldn't wait for the DVD to become available...right?

...I'll go watch BikerBoyz anyway for mindless entertainment and not learn anything new...

I'm with ya. A documentary about the Legends of GP would be great. Hollywood would never make such a film, but an indie could.

I can envision a film that details the personalities, their achievements, the onward march of technology, the teams..and some of the failed technology as well(ala NR500).

I love two strokes!!!!!!!!!!

I'll wait for the DVD/video this time around.
