How about some real information for a change??
Tired of this garbage...like all of the doom and gloom about the power limits, without knowing the facts.
What are you talking about? This IS real info - the bike has an engine defect, sales are halted and they are recalling sold units.
Sheeesh....
This ain't april 1st, bro.
Details, please. The funny part is that you scooped this information up from a Bikeland user...and still can't dig up all of the details. Please, dig deeper and present us with something solid.
We've given you everything solid we can print without compromising our source at KHI. Sorry bro - you'll have to wait for the official announcement for the rest of the dirt.

Kawasaki Announces "Tech Hold" On New ZX-10R
Saturday, December 11, 2010
This just in from Kawasaki:
2011 NINJA ZX-10R ON TECHNICAL HOLD
IRVINE, Calif. (Dec. 11, 2010)
Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. is placing a technical hold on the 2011 Ninja® ZXTM-10R sportbike. The company is proactively addressing a remedy which reflects Kawasaki's commitment to excellence and its relationships with its highly valued customers and dealer network.
The following actions are being initiated through the Kawasaki dealer network:
Unsold units will be returned to KMC warehouses. The units will be redistributed once Kawasaki is 100 percent confident they reflect company standards for this
highly technical, race-bred machine.
Those who have taken delivery of a unit will be instructed to return the unit to the dealership for a full refund and will be among the first to have the option of receiving a new unit once the technical hold has been lifted.

Full refund huh? I'm betting that whatever it is, it has the ability to kill the rider. That's the 1st time I've ever heard about a refund on a recall....and it's not even optional. I'd bet it's something to do with the engine seizing under the right conditions and tossing the rider off...

I just got word on Friday, but even Kawasaki USA is not sure why Japan handed down the order. But I assure you one thing that is being rumored all over the site.
"Its out of the question that they are buying them back to remove power"!!!!!
There are less than a handful of bikes that were sold since they just hit the wharehouse last week, this really doesn't affect many people. Whatever the problem, they are going thru great lengths to make sure we get a good product. Thats for certain!!

I can just see it now. A guy that gets a notice to return his ZX10 which he financed, insured and licensed. Now has to take it back and wait for another one? He can't just return it, if the finance company owns it, then is Kwak going to refund the insurance and plates?
And if they do, I would hate to see the condition of the bike once it was returned to the dealer, some old worn out wheels, brakes and tires from some other bike. Gee that doesn't look like the engine it came with??%$# Wasn't this bike green when we sold it to you? Those forks look a lot like a Honda mini trail forks. And the guys answer is "What's your point,? Give me my money!"

Perhaps it's been suggested here, but I'm wondering if they've violated a patent...maybe even that of another motorcycle manufacturer?

They are offering to ship me a new engine or buy the bike back, im opting for a new bike. From what I have gathered it is a cylinder wear issue either from the rings, piston or lining, but we wont know more for a little while
