2000 zx 12 how much hp?
I have a 2000 zx12 with a 1270 kit, cleaned up the ports on the head, full muzzy exhaust, degreed the stock cams at 108,106, and power commander 3r. I took the bike to the dyno and used q 16 as I will be spraying nos in the near future and the bike gave 186 hp and 101 in torque. I think these numbers look low any feedback?
Thanks!

Sounds ok. We had a 1270 come in. Pump gas....presumably stock head and no tune was in the 170s. Running a slipon too.
Your HP sounds reasonable.
Forget about the HP. How did the a/f ratio look?

Those numbers are not low....it is still a pretty small motor. If the a/f ratio is good, look for the mph at the track. That tells the real story.

Thanks for the info. I was a little worried. I was comparing it to a 03 I had with a 1290 kit and it made 195 hp. I will be running it this Sunday to see how she handles down the 1/4 mile.

Was this 1290cc zx12 on the same dyno, same time and day that you ran? If not don't worry about it. And even still again, pay attention to the a/f ratio not the HP.

So I ran the bike for the first time yesterday with some old Q16 I had in my garage for a month and the bike ran 9.38@147 mph with 1.51 60ft on motor.

Here we go again!!!!!!!!!! My 1270 must reallyyy blow! smh! But then again my time might be close for what it is compared to the 1.51/9.38/147mph, My total weight was 760 or so, 240 tire kit, 1.64/9.87/139mph, thats sayin that a .1 off the 60' would give me .2 through the traps, lol

Every dyno reads different. a good friend of mine use to own a '00 12 (sold it for an '09 14). We took it to New York to Ivan's shop (inventor of the infamous TRE) and he installed a full akrapovic exhaust, PC, and custom map. Motor is stock with stock air filter. The bike pushed out 169 rwhp. We took it to New Jersey at Rickey Gadson's cookout and put it on the dyno and it was doing 168 rwhp. On Ivan's website, if I remember correctly, he can get 203 rwhp from a 1270 kit.

my stock 01 ZX12R with full TiForce system, stacks, PC and ignition advancer put down 183.1 HP and 96Ft. Lbs. of torque. And my stock 02 ZX12R with similar mods made 180.1 hp, and 98 Ft Lbs of torque, and the 02 was dynoed at Stock Mild to Wild in Jacksonville Florida by one of our board members.
That being said, most of the 1270 kits I have seen lately aren't getting much more HP than my stock bikes, but are getting considerable more in the torque department.
All that in mind, I think you are getting decent numbers out of the 1270, provided its tuned for a good smooth curve, instead of peak numbers. I am looking to have the 01 re-tuned as it was tuned for peak numbers and not very smooth in the midrange....makes it hard to ride on the street in fast switchbacks in the mountains.

Brett thats only 8 hp more than the silver bike put down, I am sure he has quite a bit more torque though. 8 hp for the cost of a big bore kit??? thats like 100 bucks a hp.....give or take....

I always hated that nasty "hole" in the mid range but Chris said he could not get it out.

yeah, with the big bore you will get more torque.....and some HP....but the Torque is where it pays off....you can get more HP out of them, with head work and compression...some other things....but the more HP you make, the MORE IT COSTS.....
