Doing Business With Muzzys
Anyone here "Work" for a Living? Anyone that Works, work someplace other than at home or their shop? Anyone use a Credit Card to Buy from Muzzys?
I have bought 3 things from Muzzys. Paid List price to get a PCIIIr so that I could get a map they had. Bought the Lowering Links and now the Clutch assembly.(I mention this so that it is not a case of expecting anyone at Muzzys to just know my name, I have done business there in the past!) The problem is that most people must work in order to afford to buy and to Buy from Muzzys, you must be at home to "Personally" sign & receive the package. If I take off from work, the lost of time is almost as much as I paid for the parts. You cannot sign the slip and have them deliver it the next day either. I also do not feel like driving 40 miles round trip to their faculity (USP) to pick up the parts I already paid for shipping to my house. I included the 3 digits on the back of my card and with the computers they have nowadays, you name should be kept in their records.
I can understand doing this on a first time order or someone they do not know, but "Every" order? I left a copy of my Driver's license on my door with a note. Either Deliver this today or return to sender. What is your experience? How do you (NOT BUY) Receive parts from our beloved board member?

Vince, if it comes UPS, just sign the yellow slip. Simple.
If the driver is trying to find a "live" person to sign for it...they must be new!
Leave a note for the driver. If they are worried about leaving packages, buy or build a little storage box with a lock at your address so they can "lock" the package up. Or you can redirect the package to your work.

Vince ? dude send it to your work or have you even asked Muzzy's to ship it without a signature, and maybe the problem is not with the honest hard working people it is with the snake's and theives. who order a thousand dollar pipe and then oh it never arrived better send another one, then they have one and sell one on ebay.

I live in San Diego and work in Chicago. I have all my stuff delivered to my girlfriend at her office and she brings it home for me.
And, yes, I always get the "how come every time a package is delivered, it isn't for me?" I guess it's because she doesn't own a zx12, otherwise she could snake them for herself.

Guys, this time, you are "ALL" Wrong! As I stated, Muzzys make the delivery rules and the shippment stated must "Personally" sign for the package! I MUST be present period. Muzzys did not allow for shippment to any place that was not the "Billing" address Like where I work, so that it out! I get packages every day (A lot) delivered to my house. The leave the packages on my porch or between the doors and never a problem. When a "SIGNATURE" is required, the UPS man goes to Mrs. Green's house (2 doors down) and she signs for them. I know the UPS Man by site and when he even sees my car, he will wave me over to deliver the package! NOW is there anything you still do not understand??
This was ordered by Muzzys that the package must be delivered to the Billed Address. #2, That the Buyer must be present to sign for the package. #3, that the package cannot be sent to the Work Address! What about this do you not understand?

I think APE does the same thing, after losing too many parts. It's a hassle, but if it means not going out of business, I guess they do what it necessary.
Have you thought of buying Muzzy parts from a distributor, like Schnitz, who has a less conservative shipping policy? I'm sure Muzzy doesn't mind where you got their stuff.

I did, however order from ron ayers. They have a policy that if the delivery address is different from the billing address, you have to print out a form, photocopy your drivers license and fax it to them. Too much effort on my part finding a fax machine or going to kinkos, so I just had a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff sitting on my front porch after my g/f signed for the package and left the note on the front door.
Maybe you can offer this solution to Muzzy's for future purchases. It seems somewhat thief proof given you need a photocopy of your lic.

VH, I would order from Schnitz or one of the other suppliers, to by pass this promblem. I have orderd from them as well. They are pretty tight. I understand their point of equipment loss. They need to come up with something to avoid this promblem, or you need to build a special repore with your delivery man, that will allow your neighbor to sign for the packages for you. I have done that, and my guys come to me last, on his way back to the truck yard. He delivers to me around 5:30. I just make sure that I am there to meet him and give the money order

SHIPPING
IF YOU WANT THEM TO SHIP IT TO AN ADRESS OTHER THAN YOUR BILLING ADRESS YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO FILL OUT SOME SORT OF FORM TO GET THEM TO DO THIS. I KNOW APE WILL NOT SEND ANYTHING UNLESS IT IS GOING TO YOUR BILLING ADRESS. I GUESS YOU COULD GET YOUR BILLING ADRESS CHANGED TO YOUR WORK AND THEN JUST GET THE PACKAGE SENT THERE. HAVE YOU CALLED MUZZY AND TALKED TO THEM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

As my father always said (I get tired of it also) "Experience is always something you get immediately after you need it".
If I had understood "All" of this (I know that it had to go to my home address and that a signature was required! I did not think I had to do it in front of the delivery person.) I will deal with Spencer or like someone posted deal with Ron Ayers and get 02 parts. I am not going through this again. If you really knew me, you would know that I hate needing to know someone to get what I want. That is how DC Government works.

Vince you still havent answered the question... Did you ask them "Muzzys" about diffrent options, if not dude what do you expect, and if so what reasons did they give you for A. not sending with out a sig.(I know why on this one). B. why you cant ship somewhere else? C. why cant your neighbor sign for it.

Yeah, I read well, you left a photocopy of your lic. on the front door for UPS, not faxed it to the shipper who sends via ups, who would in turn change the delivery address. Dude, get out of DC and go on vacation somewhere warm. Come to San Diego and borrow my bike or something.

DOes not seem hot to me frEEk. Seems like real people seriously going through their experiences to see if they can help. The one person wrote what he know, but not what he wrote (does not do business with Muzzys directly. and when I saw the opportunity about the drivers license, the devil made me do it!
I tried to send mail about this and the mail did not go through. I did not call, because it is not "After the fact". and too late when I got home. Muzzy does not have the package, UPS Does. WHen Muzzys get it back, either they will call me, or credit my account. If they call me, I will ask them to send it to my work place. If the credit my account, then I will buy the 02 stuff from Ron Ayers. It is too late for me, this post it to make sure you do not make the same mistakes. There is one other thing in my mind, but I would have to hear it from them, "Maybe this is a policy only for certain places like DC"!

Vincent's jsut pissed off at UPS crap and I'm giving him shit for being pissy at us. It's not his fault he can't go over the speed limit on the beltway without getting pulled over, or on the GW, but, 66 across the bridge into VA late at night, you can get up to speed cause there's no place for cops to sit. Try there.

ddpete, You know I enjoyed your last post actually I am not blaming UPS (and I Hate UPS), they are only doing what they have been ordered to do.
The RT 66 Bridge, Yes coming out of the Rosslyn tunnel you can cook. but the bumps and expansion Joints if you make the left trun to hit the short freeway (Watch out for the man on the grass behind the supports in the center) then make that VERY Hard banked decreasing radius turn short straight, hard right (Look to see if the Park Police are in that parking lot or in that gas station and then make the right into the park. Get ahead of the traffic to DO "P Street Beach" Turn. A great run through the park, Blast through the tunnel, Past the Zoo a few 1 gear turns at the creek and then the first right out of the park on to Arkansas ave which dead ends at Georgia ave. 4 blocks later and I am Home! My Mother N law lives in Manassas!

See, he just needed something to make him smile and go "ah".
I've had to personally call UPS because I would be sitting home all day waiting for a package, and mine was the last stop, so I would check the website and it would read "tried, but noone home" mother f'er wanted to get home for dinner, while I waited all day for it to show up, 3 feet from the front door where my desk was.
And for those of you who I've told about cops in the DC metro area, read the last post and see how many times he's mentioned looking out for them at certain areas(all within a few hundred yards of each other). I'm telln ya, police state.

You made me re-read my post and I did not mention the Horse stable before you get to the tunnel or them sitting in the parking lot fot the Zoo and once I make the last right out of the park, after going past the Calvert street overpass there is a cut out where they can hide and the last set can hide under the 16th Stret Bridge. No more hiding places to get home. IN DC, all of these people have Police powers
DC Metro Police
US Park Police
Capitol Hill Police
Secret Service Uniformed
Embassy Police
GSA (General Services Admin) Police
Metro Transit Police
White House Uniformed Police (Different from Secret service)
Then the Police that can chase you into the district and still give you a ticket
Prince Georges County
Montgomery County
Maryland State
Arlington County
Alexanderia County
Fairfax County
Virginia State
Now the Locals City Police
Chevy Chase
Bethesda
Mt Rainer
College Park
Beltsville
Rockville
New Carrollton
Hyattsville
Bladensburg
Riverdale
Edmondson
and Oxon Hill
One last set Maryland University also has a Police department that can also give you tickets
Other than this, a piece of cake!
