Muzzy's new 2002 Map!!

Hey guys,

I just checked out the Muzzy site:

http://www.muzzys.com/141204-02/index.html

Looks like Muzzy got over 183 HP with the new 2002 '12!!! Does that mean that the new 12 has more HP then my 2000??

DEATH, just waking up? New 2002? lol the 03s have already hit the street.
Yes the newer bikes do have more power stock.
Little unstable in the handling dept though. And the 02s and newer DONT like just bolting on a pipe. Definitely needs some kind of fuel enrichment.

Don't like just bolting on a pipe???? I care to differ.. there have been many threads about just bolting on a pipe and I myself gained 15.5hp with JUST a pipe.. and drivablilty is great...

Yeah, I guess I did just wake up to reality! Its funny, I was all excited about getting close to 180 HP out of my 2000, when I read that on Muzzy's site. JEEZ. A pipe/PC-III and 183+ HP - life aint fair!! Oh well, I still love my old 2000 Green model, and 3.5 HP more is good for a newer bike. How are the new models doing on top end runs? Are they more/less aerodynamic at speed??

Interesting topic. I have a stock 2001, and am about to lay hands on a new Muzzy system (Stainless w/aluminum can).
.
Will I experience painful death throes and surges and other maladies at low rpm ... like YCIS says .... ???
.
No PCommander, just stock ignition. Do ya recommend waiting until I get the PC too? --Say it ain't so !!--

I havn't seen any real mind blowing numbers from the stock 02. And the only stock 03 numbers I've seen have all been in the high 140's.

Funny my 2000 ran fine and my buddies 2001 ran fine too. Depends on the bike I guess. On the 2002s its definitely an issue. Ask DaveInDaytona how his bike rode before a remap. After seeing his A/F below 3,000rpm, Im suprised he didnt sell it...lol
The older bikes can be cured without a PC. I wouldnt attempt it on a newer bike.
And for Boostable, the difference between your "stepped" Hindle and my Muzzy is distinct. Im pretty sure the Muzzy pipes have the largest primaries of ANY pipes available for the ZX12.
