Death from Above

I have a cool 7 minute video of a C-130 attack in Afghanistan that I would like to share, but don't know how to get it from an e-mail attachment onto a post over here. Anyone want to volunteer to have me forward it to you so you can post it?

Sorry, This is old news that I missed somehow. It has been covered on the Labusas website. Here is a link to the video:

Got my DSL back on line so it was a little easier to review. Definitely reminds of the old missle command vidio game. Also another example of what our technology can do and it is also another thing that non soldiers can look at and think war is easy and clean.

I appreciate our technology and the obvious advantages it gives us. Lost in the black and white and infa red is the actual gore, and death of people. Lets hope we don't see a similar video with the pilots speaking arabic. We Americans are kind of funny, we can watch a video like this and get all enthhused, amazed, stack smack talkin etc. But we are not so receptive when our opponent and or enemy does the same to us.

Frankly, war is very ugly, it is very loud (ears bleeding and ringing, deafness), blinding, nausiating (smells, blast concussions, fear etc.), filthy, loaded with unspeakable gore and cruelty. It's not fun. And even the winner(s) bring home the scars and regrets. I am and have been the first in line to fight. I believe that freedom and our way of life comes with and at a price. I can watch a kick ass action flick or war movie with the best of them. I just personally feel a pang of saddness watching real people die. Especially in this case where they are dying because they live in the stone ages.

All that said, thanks for the video link.

I am continually amazed at the dollars per kill spent by modern armies. Even as far back as WWII I saw figures of tens of thousands of dollars expended for each enemy killed. In this video, I saw maybe 20 kills outside the building? Divide the munitions cost by 20 and I bet you realize war is not only hell, it's damn expensive.
I feel no joy at killing an honorable enemy. However, there are enemies I would gladly kill slowly with my own hands. Big difference.
