the extra plate deal is just like this
http://kzzone.com/clutches.html
APE "Extra plate" clutch kits are the strongest clutches avaialble for your motorcycle. They have become the industry standard...the best. Although designed for racing applications, they are perfect for performance street bikes. They do not grab and chatter . APE clutch kits feature an extra friction plate for 14% more clutch surface.........

life is all about knowledge and options.
that is why that orange blow proofe bell housing is doing on the floor. one is to dyno my new engine for the duster, and two for a killer big block mopar in a pulling truck some day.
it will mate a big block mopar to a dodge cummins diesel 5 speed NV4500. my dream pulling truck. a diesel dodge with a stroker big block inplace of the diesel.

I hear ya Nox...Sometimes whats on paper or figured out on the calculator doesnt work or isn't exactly right in the real world & Vise-Versa...
I fight it because its a challenge to be a real good foot shifter & using a stock clutch...

I hear ya......
I have been looking at some tricks to change some things even with my hays.
I have some experimental springs for it i have not tried yet, but will when I can do some testing.
But, more surface area, is always a good thing on a stock type clutch, so, like that ad says, adding another fiber, in with the thinner plates, will help. That whole big plate idea on keeping the heat out, is not exactly as big a deal as everyone thinks it is, if you know how to take care of the bike.
Its nice to see guys use their head,
I see guys around here, screw so much crap up.......(well, so and so big name racer said this.........), well, they are doing it different than what you are, so that one thing does not add up to a total package........
