Going to give the Metzeler M1s a try........
Yes, I am going to try something other than the beloved 010s. I have no problem with the 010s mind you, they are a great tire, worlds above a D207 IMHO. They just don't hold up as good as I'd like when we're at the Gap. The first day we were there in September Harry and I were fuckin' haulin', second day pretty much the same deal. But by the 3rd day I could tell I was having to go a good bit slower due to the tires. The frontend definitely didn't inspire any confidence, and the rear wasn't hooking up nearly as well. I played with using different tire pressures towards the end but there was no big difference. The 010s are awesome, and are perfect for riding around here because they don't get abused quite as much. But I'm going to try something different @ the Gap this year. If I like this set I've got coming I'll mount up a new set on my other wheels and have 'em ready for the gap.
Harry and I have real similar riding styles and he likes the M1s better, so I figured I'd try them. I have heard good things from a lot of guys about them, but I know how Harry rides and I'll take his word for it. If they suck he's got an ass whoopin' coming in May, or sooner. If any of you guys are running the M1s chime in and let me hear what you think about them. Chip at Ron Ayers has pretty good prices on the M1s. $133.31 for the rear, and $83.13 for the front. After I get them and get to put some miles on them I'll post my thoughts.

From the www.us.pirellimoto.com website:
Diablo is a new generation of tire, developed for powerful supersport motorcycles, which proceeds the decade long success story of the legendary Pirelli Dragon.
Safety in wet conditions, sporty handling on dry asphalt as well as high mileage are the outstanding features of the Pirelli Diablo presented today to the motorcycle industry:
A tire with a hell of a grip even under the worst conditions like rain or low temperatures, precise and fast on track for a sporty riding style and even wear for maximum performance during every phase of the tire's life.
Absolutely innovative technological achievements - derived from the successful Pirelli Dragon - have brought this new Pirelli supersport generation to life.
The computer designed tread pattern along with the exclusive Silica-Silan-based compound ensure incredible wet grip and minimum aquaplaning.
The Quadroplex-Technology has been chosen to build the rear tire. This technology allows, trough a better compound mixing process, the realisation of an extrusion incorporating "mini-sides" with optimised stiffness providing even wear also under tough riding use.
The structure of the Pirelli Diablo utilises the innovative, light and resistant para-aramidic fibre Pentec - a guarantee for consistent performance and increased tire life.
The optimised stiffness carcass ensure a uniform contact area at every lean angle in view also of the multiple curvature of the tyre contour.

Hey Ninja, let me know what ya find out. I startd out with the OEM 208's on the 12, and then tried a set of 010's and the Pirelli Dragons.... If I could get the tractions of the Pirelli Corsa, and the longevity of the Dragon I would have it made...run the Corsa on the 6R it doesnt eat them off too bad, like the 12 would.....am seriously considering the M1 as the next tire...keep us posted please....

Will do.....
I'll keep you guys posted for sure. I am very hard on tires. If the M1s hold up for me, and performs well, I'd say it'll work for just about anybody. The 010s are great tires, but after about 1k of spirited riding they're toast for me. All those darkies and shit come at a price I know, but ain't nothing like lettin' the bitch loose on exit.

I don't have any first hand experience with the M1's. Heard a lot of good things. I definitely like the Pirelli's. They are my next tire.

I put a set on. Got 2K on 'em. Really like 'em. Should get 4K out of 'em, the rear anyway. You may want to bump up your psi a bit.

4K !!!!!
Greg, I couldn't get 4k out of a set of D205s on my ZX11s. If I get 2k out of the rear I'll be very impressed. Not really looking @ that though, just want the tire to work well. I've heard nothing but good things about them so I'm pretty confident I'll be happy with them.

I've got a set of Metzlers on now, but all of the riding I'm doing now is just commuting. Haven't gone riding just for the hell of it in quite awhile. They seem OK, they just seem to get the Florida square effect faster than the 010s.

I have a set of M1s on my zx11..love'm. I have a set of Pirellis (190 on the rear) on the 12...love them also. I've heard they're made at the same factory. I also have a set of HPXs still in the box. The M1s and the Pirellis are hard to beat IMOA.

My faorites has to have been the Rennsports. Getting 1500 out of a rear regulates them to "Special Occasion" tires (i.e. DG).

lol, got that shit right Red, same as the Corsa, that is why I only run them on the 6R. I only ride it in the mountains and on the track. Any normal riding it gets is from my G/f and she isnt hard on a tire, hell when she rides it I dont think it ever gets over 6 grand on the tach.....woudl liek to try the Rennsoort once and compare it to the Corsa...I think they would both be really good track tires, I know the Corsa is.....might try the Renn's next time.....
