Engine swap

I know this has been talked about a couples times.

My brothers engine blew, '00 ZX 12 and I can get a deal on a '01 engine. The question I have is....can I use an '00 ECU and '00 cable harness with '01 engine? Do I just have to re-time the cam sensor(Ex cam), or use '00 cams and I'm good to go?

Thanks

i think that is the only change.
but just to let you know the 00 and 01 ecu has different plugs and are not interchangable. but you can release the pins easy and just swap plug ends by taking all the wires out of one plug and installing them in the other.(use the shop manual though for orientation)
