ZX-10RR FANTASIES
...I've read and re-read Motorcyclist's article about the ZX-6R/RR oh about a gazillion times now...stared at the photos till my eyelids droop and flutter with fatigue...and I'm in a mid-drool smile as my head snaps and jerks to and fro, side to side in classic whiplash fashion as I fight the dream-like state-of-mind about a perfect-day ride on a fantasy road on THE perfect bike...and I can only hope and wonder what the new ZX-10R/RR could be like...SHOULD be like...can I hear an Amen???

Amen brother. Give me a factory superbike for around $10,000 and I'll be happy.

Ok, so the Z1000 has the same tail as the ZX6R, and it's got ZX9R forks, swingarm, etc...So if you swapped the forks out for the 6R's, added a slipper clutch, adjustable swingarm and race bodywork, you'd be there, right?

For me, 160lbs. fully suited, the 6R is plenty of bike for the street. If the Malaysian reports hold up, I'm definitely buying one for a streetbike.
I don't need no stinkin' litrebike for the street. My 12 saw about 1500 mi. of duty this season, but my R6 saw 7500mi. of street duty.
To each his/her own.

...I agree...the 600/636 is plenty bike for most of us...but when you weigh 250+, the extra cc's for outright speed is needed if keeping up with feathery riders in the straights or the feel of brutal accelertion is important to you...and this is America, damnit!!!...too much power is not enough

The truth is I want some of the features of the ZX6RR but the ZX10R needs to be a complete machine. The tests on the ZX6RR are saying that it is an excellent race platform ready to be built for racing. In stock trim the ZX6 RR is smoked by the ZX6r. The RR is much like the Yamaha R7. Lots of goodies but is merely a platform to get the bike homologated for rcing and needs to be kitted to perform. The ZX10R needs to be released in a state that makes it able to kick the shit out of the Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda etc. Anything else is a copout by Kawi.

How true!
The ZX10R(R?) needs to be able to go toe to toe with the GSXR1000, R1, CBR954 , 999, whatever else STOCK off the showroom floor and kick their arses.
No kits or excuses needed.

I dont see why KHI cant or doesnt do it.....they have been at the back of the pack with the litre bikes now for some time....there is just no replacement for displacement......and what the hell, I was looking at a 750cc bike this year to flog around the mountains, arent many choices out there....almost got to go to a GSXR to do that, and I cant stand the seating position on them.....KHI please hear us.....release a 2004 ZX10RR...I promise I will buy one.....matter of fact I will buy the first one I can find, just like I did my 12....

If you build it "400lbs wet, razor handling and around 160 bhp" they will come. Hell I know I'd buy it. They better do it quick! The Gixxer 1K is looking better everyday

if they made the afrementioned 400lb 160hp 10R, and actualyl made it close to as comfy as the 12, even i would trade in. but i won't trade if it can't be reason to laguna & back in reasonable comfort. if i were to get a serious race-capable bike, i'd get the 6r & keep the 12. use the 12 for long rides, and the 6 for short screamers. right tool for the right job. shit, i'd love a full on touring bike too for those times when ya just want to travel & dont care about breaking any speed records.
