2.5~3 degrees advance gave us a solid gain, a few ponies all around. +4 or 5 degrees will give you a little more still and should be fine, but if you're only riding on the street, just leave it at +3.

My 00' 12 stock did NOT like any advance (lost power) BUT! After I installed the 1270 kit it liked 2.5 deg.

I just got mine in the mail..have'nt installed it yet, not real sure where I'm gonna set it at. Seen a few bikes run pretty good @+4 on motor. I just installed a 6" ext. and a #38 for the dryshot..made 1 pass and lost the clutch and waiting on the hub before I try it again. The way I understand it...its +2 to +4 on motor and -2 to -8 on spray depending on nozzle size I think. But I do know that w/#34 jet and no advance it seem to run pretty good. I just not sure how 'SAFE'(maybe to lean ?) it will be without taking some timming out.

should be around 50+ horsepower.
Stock to -2 degrees would be a safe bet.

Well, now that I have the advancer/retarder, I'm not real sure I'll use it (for now anyways). I'll make some passes with the new clutch and see. I also have the Yosh EMS with no mapping yet. Hopefully I'll end up with a street bike that will carry a 220 lb. rider to the mid 9's safely (no motor damage) when its all done.
btw.. fastestr1, those are some pretty impressive passes you got there.
basicly stock motor ? 2 stage set-up ?

Yep it has not even had a tune up or valves set. Foot shifted my way to 8.99 with a stock motored bike on kings 2 stage NOS, Step Hindle, K&N's, 16/46 and bolt-ons.
