ZX12-R idle issue.

Hi guys/gals.

I could do with some advise on idle adjustment. I have a -12R with PC3. Recently my idle has been very unstable. When I stop at lights it fluctuates quite wildly. It has a tendency to drop very low too. On several occasions the bike has stalled when I pull the clutch in to change gear. I have a PC3 fitted with custom map. I was just wondering whether this is something I should adjust myself with the idle setting or if this is PC3 related and i should have it re-mapped. Will adjusting the idle effect the PC?

Thanks in advance.

Hi entropy,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I am not very mechanically minded and am a little ashamed to say I know very little about the mechanics of my bike. Much like my car, I am a very capable driver but I would struggle to fix a problem should it arise. However, i looked up TPS and found that you were refering to the Throttle position sensor. Am I right in assuming that the TPS setting is something that can be adjusted either manually by adjusting the actual sensor on the bike by hand or it can be adjusted via the PC3? If so, would you recommend doing it manually or via the Power commander? Or have I got it totally wrong?
Many thanks for your help. And please excuse my ignorance on the subject. I have no doubt most of my questions on here will appear pretty stupid to those who know
