I called up there last week about my leaking Muzzy damper. Dave Turner said that Doug wasn't there and was "on leave" for a while. I didn't dig into it any further.

Eight year enlistment? Please tell me there was a reenlistment in there somewhere. 8 is one hell of an obligation!!

If you are staying for 8 you might as well stay in for 20. What service ?

8 years is his MSO, everyones first contract is 8 years, they are just broken into so many years active and the rest inactive....I will not be here until September, atleast I hope not...I plan on being home in March....got everything crossed that can be crossed...I am Army Josh, and I think that BB is also. If my memory serves me correctly he is in EOD... While I am a recon scout.

Yeah, eight years is the required obligated enlistment. Granted, once your eight years is completed from your first day, your no longer elgible for any drafts that can come up. If you have never served in the military, then technically I think till age 33 you can be drafted.
I did three years active duty, a few months National Guard, then have been on inactive status until present. I already have my orders, sigh.
I am Army as well, and yep EOD it is. Good stuff, not really.
