Baffling?
OK, what is the purpose of the intricate baffle inside the clutch cover. Is this an attempt to get more oil to the steels and fibers? Trap fiber particles like the baleen of a whale? Has anyone tried leaving it out? Is it supposed to be cleaned once in a while? The bottom channel on mine has kind of distorted from the heat, should it be replaced?

Maybe it keeps pieces from blowing out through the cover.....I don't know,....I'm baffled. :O

Noise and vibration reducer likely, yes I removed it, never put it back in. When you put a lockup clutch in you have to remove it, so no it doesn't hurt anything not having it in place.

Its to reduce noise...thats all.
Take it out. 1/2 lb saved!
