Candy Apple
Anybody have any experience with Candy Apple paint??
I'm looking at painting my ZX12R Candy Apple Black, gold underlay, clear black topcoat.

Get a GOOD painter.... As candy is transparent every coat makes the shade a little darker... I had a 63 galaxie convertable painted that color with a gold base coat... The painter I got had alot of experence from painting luminated signs they have to be painted evenly or will do what I call tiger stripe. Darker shaded steaks from not being sprayed evenly.... Looks like hell when that happens...
Best advice get a good painter.... Another note... If ever in an accident may be hard to match...... My Galaxie needed an entire repaint because you just can't splice in anywhere if you want it perfect.... No shop could gaurantee a match to my satisfaction...

Also House of Kolors has very good Candy paint as far as I am concerened... Also if your base coat paint is from 2 different batch numbers mix them. Or they may not match...They are not always exact.... This also makes it harder to rematch the paint in an accident...

Colors look wack on a flat panel LCD compared to a CRT.
