Hope you went with an after market clutch and basket kit from Muzzy with all that power. 210 hp is pretty cool on the street though, wish I had that much Hp to my back wheel.

The rods are not a must. But if you are going to spray one can never be to careful!

New dyno. I think these are real numbers.
211.7hp/167.7Nm Muzzy pipe
214.5hp/169.5Nm Akrapovic racing evo pipe
Same bike, same day. No mapping with Akra, maybe few ponies more after that.
253.7hp/210.4Nm NOS
All hp:s are DIN.

My #s ARE SAE...that is also with MAX-Smoothing...@ Min-Smoothing it spiked to 212+hp and 119+lb...
It hits 200hp @ 9,250 (113.7lbs)...Max is at 11,200 210.7 @ 98.6lb...STILL has 100.2lb @ 11,000
LOWEST IT GOES is 207.9hp (95.5lb) @ 11,450 but...still has 208 at rev-limit

I have my motor completely apart. Can you elaborate on the head stuff and what hp increase it is worth. I am putting a 1361 in it next month. I have a fully disassembled motor and would like to do other mods if you know what I mean. The more power the better as I have plenty of time to do it right now.

Your given the 1361 a bad rep! You post those kind of numbers and guys won't want to mess with them! The torque is the fun stuff!

Michael,
Most of the time when people say "cleaned up" that's all they mean, no major porting, polishing, etc.
When I had my head off the 12, I blended the area around the valve seats for a better transition. There is some material left around the seats that can be restrictive to flow when the head is machined from the factory, this needs to be removed. You can spend some time slicking the exhaust ports up but I would not recommend the same on the intake side.
Any sharp edges in the combustion chamber needs to be smoothed down to help prevent detonation from hot spots.
My valves and seats looked in good shape but since the bike had over 10k miles, I lapped them in to be sure. Just make sure the keepers are seated right!
The intake boots should be matched to the head, mine were off quite a bit.
I don't know enough to really remove any metal, that's why I only "cleaned mine up", this process cost nothing.... but time.
There is someone here local that can perform headwork, he recently finished the head on a 1361 (remember the red one at Bristol)and the bike does FLY!!

Seems that, th is year, guys are getting nice numbers out of the motors. Do y'all think it's more headwork being done, or better cam timing, or what?

Thanks Dan, Would that be Chris Hill your talking about? How much is a clean up worth or a full port and polish. I have my head sitting here waiting for the 1361 kit so I need to get it started. Have you guys seen this thread.
C:\Documents and Settings\xith030\My Documents\bikes\Think Fast Intake Porting.htm
I had heard that Lee and others dont use the flow benches anymore because they were throwing them in the negative on output. This site tells the same and explains why. Boy I thought this was going to be easy.
Hey Dan did you notice a difference with the cleanup? Did the red 12 see an improvement or higher dyno no's?
Thanks all.

Michael,
I did my headwork when I degreed the cams in and bumped the compression so I can't answer the question for you.
Michael Tjohn done the headwork on the red 12, he also had the throttle bodies bored to 48mm at the same time, once again it's hard to give numbers since more work was performed at the same time.
Michael has good credentials, he builds/tunes 750 Supersport engines for AMA riders.
The red 12 picked up some power with the work as did mine but not leaps and bounds. The larger 1361 needs headwork and proper cam timing for it to really come alive.
I'm guessing decent headwork may net you 5-10hp, that depends if oversized valves are used too. Be ready to set your satchel down as this type work ain't cheap.
I do remember the "stock" 1361 made around 115#'s of torque. The hp went up with the cam tining, headwork and throttle bodies but the tq didn't change much.
Dan
BTW, you gonna put an arm on your 12? Remember the red 12 power wheelies down the track? That much power is hard to put to good use with the stock swingarm.

Yeah I want to get decent results with the money that I spend. Some of this stuff is big bucks. Thats why I was asking!!! I guess the cleanup will net the best for the buck. GOt a clue as to how much the throttle body mods cost? That sounds like a great idea!
