Caliper painting

I'm wanting to paint my calipers black (just got a set of RC wheels) and was wondering if I should take them apart and glass bead them before painting or clean them up and just shoot them.
VHT sells Rotor & Caliper gloss black paint.
Anyone with experience or suggestions?
Thanks,
Dan

Glass beading will certainly give a good surface for the paint to hang on to. Personally I would have them powder coated, thats about the only paint that will stand up to brake fluids. Mask off the internal areas and make sure they are absolutly clean of the glass beads before reassembly.

Dan you could probably get away with cleaning the calipers really good with brake cleaner and alcohol then shoot them with paint and have the whole project complete like it never happened.
The last time I had a set of calipers powdercoated, it took 2 days to prep them for reassembly. Royal pain in the ass.
Plus with paint, touch up is a breeze.
Got any photos of the bike with the RCs??

I'd still go with the powder paint.

I got the chrome Star wheels, The bike is a '00 model with '01 silver bodywork that may be black soon....have not quite made up my mind yet.
Thanks guys for the input. I'm debating whether to take the calipers apart, bead blast them, rebuild and paint them. Seems like quite a bit of work considering they are working just fine now.

Id keep the calipers assembled and shoot them with paint for now. You can always powder them later.
With all the post prep work I have to do after a parts been PC'd, I might have spent the time prepping it for paint...lol
Are you going to keep the wheels polished or are you going to paint them?
Also on the rear wheel, you may want to go to a dual bearing setup in the cushdrive.
Shoot me an email and Ill send you some pictures of how to do it.

I'd avoid taking them all apert if for no other reason then they work fine, the seals don't leak etc. I find myself messing with things that work and regretting it! I'd tape off the parts you want to protect, bead blast the rest and shoot them with some high quality hi temp paint.
