real quick stupid question
I 'm in the learning process not only on bikes but mechanics all together. My bike is a salvage rebuild. It has been wrecked pretty bad but now is almost totally rebuild however a few final things at this point need to be replaced. My stator cover has been J.B. welded to keep it from leaking. So I'm going to replace it. Is it just simply taking it off and replace a gasket. Or will I run into issues if I try this myself?

i have siliconed the gasket and reused it. do not simply silicone the cover and reinstall. the ss gasket has a very tiny hole in it to allow oil to get to the stator. if you dont run the gasket you will have excess oil flowing there, and a resulting drop in pressure everywhere else
