1 3/4" on the Forks?? The 02 Forks MUST Be Different! The 00 and 01 Forks are a Problem at over 1.5"! Ad spring in front until 2 lines are showing! Bounce the bike up and down! It should almost come up as fast as it goes down! I use very little Compression Dampening except for lowering my Bike!

Being "Old" Makes me more cautious! I have special Stainless Hose clamps (Thicker and narrower than the Auto Zone types) that I have Under the top and lower clamp to make sure that if I have a hard landing, that I also have an insurance Policy!

I saw some Pictures Somewhere of some "Things" you had put on your Bike! I also saw the "Bolt" in question! I could see that it was sitting up about 1/8" to 3/16"! I would put 2 layers of Duct Tape all around that stub and take a Hack Saw and Saw a SLot right through the center of the bolt! Spray a little Oil and take a screwdriver! Put it in the slot, Tap it once and unscrew it! Let me Know!!
