NOS photos
Thought I'd psot a few pics of my NOS stuff. The on / off switch is just to the left of the key. And the button is the horn. The nozzle is located under the front edge of the tanl under the fuse panel somewhat. And the 2.5 bottle fits neatly in the trunk.

The rush is pretty cool. You push the button and there is a slight delay of maybe a 1/2 to a full second before the NOS makes it into the engine. The bike litterally jumps at that moment and hauls ass.
The cost is actually the cheapest mod I can think of. I paid $325 for the sneaky pete dryshot kit. Actually bought it from Mad Mike. The kit came with a 1 pound bottle. I bought the 2.5 pound bottle for about $150 if I remember corectly. Costs me about $14 to fill the bottle.
On the dyno the bike jumps about 75 horsepower in 600 rpm when you hit the button!
Pretty fun.

One pound bottle makes about 3 good runs at the drag strip. I have not emptied the 2.5 pound bottle. I don't use the NOS all that often. But I make it a point ot keep the bottle full.

Gas prices maybe high but the facts are the "hyper markets" of the Costcos, Safeways and WalMarts have driven the price down bigtime. Today I paid 20 cents a gallon more per gallon for fuel then I can buy it as a consumer from Costco. So needless to say I end up giving my gas away to stay competitive on the street just to get people in the Convenience store. It is not a pleasant situation. According to statistics these days there is nearly a 50% failure rate in gas stations these days. The oil companies are making their margin and killing the dealers. Eventually the consumer will feel the pinch after hey starve the small guys out. Once Costco and WalMart have no competition I'm sure they won't take the opportunity to adjust up!!!
The same family that will drive 6 miles to save a nickel a gallon on their 15 gallon fill up have no qualms coming into my station asking to use our lot and water for a car wash fund raiser and or asking us to sponsor their soccer teams etc. It is a funny business.

I heard Conoco is doing a merger, should be done by 2003, bringing them to the 3rd largest petroleum company.
