Harley Davidson Lover?

I take it that the owner of this bike does not like HD bikes. I may be wrong.

Harley's

Hey Guys......Harley's aren't that bad. A few years ago I bought my wife a new, "Last of the Evo's", a 99 Fatboy, and leaned on it of course.
Personally I think it is a beautiful bike, well built and bullet proof. Frankly if I didn't think it was a quality product, I wouldn't let my her ride it.
You ota try one some sunny afternoon when you just feel like a low maintenance cruise in the country, they're fun.
Cheers,
Cliff

...yeah...what Cliff said...its so damn easy to be polarized about anything, but if you're a motorcycle enthusiast, then any motorcycle is good for what it was designed to do with whatever technology that was available at that time...to steal from a phrase, "There are no bad bikes, just bad riders"

DAMN,............I don't know what to say........

I guess the bikes do ok if you ride them in the parameters they were designed for. SLOW!!! Which is cool if that's your thing. I have personally logged some time on a couple of harleys and I didn't care for the rattling bastards. But then again I wasn't chugging down the blvd. either.

They do have their place. I have a bigger problem with the drunken multitudes of greasy fucks that promote the "Harley" lifestyle. But then again it's their life and it does give guys like me something to laugh at on a regular basis. So for the most part, let the record state "FUCK A GODDAMNED HARLEY"!

Damn........ I do know what to say.

FUCK a Harley Davidson! I wouldn't have one of them non handling, oil leaking, won't go fast , won't stop , vibrating pieces of shit!

I don't consider a Buell a harley.Maybe the new overpriced harley might be ok if I was planning on buying a yacht and wanted the most expensive boat anchor of all!

Damn I love this. Hehehe. OK I'm no great fan of HD Motorcycles but I will allways respect someone who rides for whatever reason.

Every year I go on a ride for MD that is sponsored by HD. I have never recieved any shit from anyone. On that ride everyone is welcome. Last year there were about 50 sportbikes that were at the start. Most don't do the whole ride it is from Salt Lake City to Wendover (Wendover is about 10 miles to the West of the Bonneville Slat Flats). At the finish there were about 20 Sportbikes.

Here are a few pics from last years ride see if you guys and gals can spot my bike.

See my bike yet?

And No I don't know where to get the stickers but I will try and find out for everyone.

How do you guys feel about Harley's V-Rod beating out the (higher displacement) Honda VTX. Check out this 2001 Power Cruisers Shootout:

I haven't lost any sleep over the deal. When the boys in japan see what's going on they'll easily produce a bike that will make the V Rod much less appealing. The V Rod won't be the baddest V Twin cruiser for long, but if it is it won't bother me because I'm not into cruisers.

How do you feel about the slower, less powerful, cheaper Kawasaki Mean Streak beating the HD????

Unfortunately, the Kawi Mean Streak won for reasons that won't necessarily contribute sales. You see, nowadays, people want power. Despite its higher price tag, I guarantee the V-Rod will out-sell the Mean Streak. In fact, Harley's 2002 allocation is already sold out.

I'll own a Harley soon, but there are a few priority items on the list before that. The unreliable oil leaking crap people still spout off today just shows people really don't keep up with that type of bike. I'd like to have one because my priority is not always to go insanely fast and they serve a purpose. I like 4x4's and BMW's, each has it's own purpose and I'd like each one for what it was but I don't think I'm a redneck or a yuppie because I do so throwing a rider into a category because of what they ride is a little short sighted. I must admit that most of the people that are buying a Harley now are doing it to buy a name and a reputation but just because you bought a Harley doesn't make you a biker. I think I'm more welcome in a Harley bar here in town on my 12 when I walk in than a Harley rider in Dockers and penny loafers because I ride a bike and I'm not trying to do be something I'm not. To each his own and I'm happy to see people out riding, even if I do have to pass a lot of them.

went for a long loner ride on sunday on the way home well after dark I passed one harley and he hit the brightest brights I ever saw and left them on so I pushed my mirrors to the side and kept on my way. I see 2 more up a head and they move over, I thought to my self now thats better, till I look back and all 3 are tryin to catch me! I was going 120+ most of the way till I saw them fallin back I would slow up then take off again not to sure what they thought they were going to do if they did catch me I was tempted to stop just to find out but they always want to bring guns in to a friendly fist fight! so I just toyed with them till I got bored and shot off into the night. I wrote a post a while back about my brother being hit in the back doin 70mph by a bandito. Its not the bikes I dont like. its the Idiots who ride them! try to give most HD bikers the motorcycle wave and youll just get a dirty look.it will get real ugly if they keep it up

It's all in what floats your boat fellas.......

Hey guys it's all in what makes you happy.

I have no doubt that the V Rod will be a HUGE success, but that still doesn't impress me. I'm still thinking that everyone is making WAY to big of a deal outta this bike. I know it is a big move for HD to stray from THEIR norm, but the bike is not that big a deal.(To me anyhow) It's a free country, and it's your money.

I also will admit that harley has come leaps and bounds in the past decade as far as quality and reliability. I'm still thinking "So What". The technology has been in place for this to have taken place a LONG time ago. But it didn't, and the big slow bastards still cost over twice what they were worth IMHO. In short I ain't down with the boys in Milwaukee. As long as the boys in japan keep building superior equipment at a reasonable price they'll get my $$$$$$$. I'm sorry if this offends anyone but like I said it's a free country and if I choose NOT to fall victim to the HARLEY mystique, and the whole other boat load of horseshit that goes with it, it's my choice. But bottom line is as I said before, "It's all in what floats your boat". If owning and riding a Harley is what makes a guy happy, then I'm proud for him, and I honestly mean that.

Who knows??? When I get old and decide that I want to go slow I may even entertain buying one.

Will you change your name to Harleyman ?

No one offended here, there's rivalry in any difference of opinion and that makes it interesting. There's trash talk between sportbike brands too. I respect anyone's opinion and will defend their right to have it (even if they're wrong ) but I expect the same in return. As far as bikes, you can see where I spent my money, I've got 3 Kaw's and looking at a 4th. I like bikes, street, dirt, cruisers or rockets. It's all good.
