It was a warrenty item that the dealer changed the wiring and added silicon all around the hole where the wires leave the cover...

Cut and solder the wires back together below the fuel tank. That cured it for me. The dealer warranty didn't help...

clean the oem connector if its still ok(but full of oil) with brake clean, then put in some dielectric grease. then just cut the wire wherever between the stator and plug. no connector needed unless the oem one is fried. i would look into the trailer type connectors if yours is burned up. they can take a lot of abuse

Ok how about just braiding the wires and use the shrink wrap? I know this will not allow me to unplug things but I'm thinking this will eliminate the use of plugs and resistance. What do you think? sorry if this is a dumb idea.

i eliminated the plug,i also soldered the wires individually near the stator so that the oil would not creep up the wires also used ultra grey silicone,it dries pretty hard, has help up for 6 yrs

as long as you solder the wires so you have a solid piece, and then shrink tube them individually(use the kind with glue) then oil cant go any further up the wire. you only need a plug if you have to remove it. just twisting the wires together and putting on shrink tube wont stop the oil from going up the wire
