changing oils

i've been running motul oil 300v and 5100 for about 25,000 miles now and want to switch to a different brand. can i as long as i stick with synthetic oil? or can i even go with regular oil? the guy at the dealer says its bad for the oil rings once theyre used to the type of oil its been using/ he also said "i could change it as long as the new oil has ester in it/

300V is extremely expensive because it is all Ester Based Oil. AMs/Oil is a Pao Based Oil like Mobil 1. For about 1/3 less money I use Motul e-Tech 100 which is a 50/50 based Ester / Pao based oil. Ester is better for Racing and Pao is better for the street. Get both and save 3 to $4.00 per quart!

your right vincent, the motul is getting too expensive for me! i tried to find the e tech around here at a 50 mile radius of where im at and no one sells it(the dealer can order it but its still 13 a quart). i heard of some riders using the rotella t 15w 40 diesel oil and im trying that. most of all its ready available for me on the weekends. i dont really get to spend alot of time on my bike on the weekdays and it always seems when i got to change my oil it cost me so much.

I have been running Syn Rotella T all year and I love it! .Trans shifts better than with Mobil 1 or Amsoil.
