bad design? Explain how the design is different from any other sportbike? The layout of all the components is no different than any other.

what i mean is the fairing is too wide at the bottom. i don't see why it should drag so often when i don't even touch the feelers down or my knee or anything else.

Maybe you should try riding without running along the curb.

Freek.... My Fairing touched prior to setting my bike up properly for my weight and riding style. Since installing the correct front fork springs, revalving the forks and installing my Ohlins rear shock I have not had the problem since.

I have railed Pacific Raceway, dragging my knees in turns 2,3,4,5,6,7, and 9 consistantly. I have found the problem was actually more of a combination of bumps in the turn more then just a severe turn.

And with all of this said, Swft maybe on to something about you and the curbs.

hardy har har...

the problem is definitely rough roads. some of the nicest bikeing roads are large part frost heave and damage from severe winter conditions. and much as i appreciate the fix of better springs etc, the $$ involved means it just aint an option for me. guess i'll just crank up the preload even more (got a line or 2 left), drop the forks a few mm till they'r dead flush, & stick the washers in the rear. i suspect the 5mm or so that gives me may do the trick. oh well, come next spring i likely wont have fairings so it wont really matter anyway

Well to the original question... Last weekend I waxed the bike for winter and also took the tank cover off and lifted the tank. So I could measure the needed spacer size. Well it needs 16mm hole - just like buykawasaki.com said. I allready made my own 4.0 mm thick spacer out of aluminium and it is going in there during xmas-holiday...
