Oh Jason370... whats the deal?
Checking things out over laBusa and it appears that you have been getting whacked by the busas! I thought you had worked these issues out. Whats the deal?

ill tell ya what happened
at first i was green, so zrxchris's stock 99 busa was beatin up on my 02' stock zx12 because i wasnt keeping y bike within its powerband when we started the race(s). once i made sure to start around 7k rpm's, it was a joke. i wrecked him........bad. then he tossed his stock exhause and put a full micron on. now i know that micron sorta sucks, but its 30 lbs lighter than the twin exhaust that came stock, and it does make more hp. i geared my bike (17/47) and i'm starting to think i shoulda gone with a 48 cause he now consistently beats me by half a tire to a full tire.
It's close, very close, but unfortunately his lighter piped bike is an asshair faster than my heavier geared bike.
problem will be very solved soon enough, i',m looking into full exhaust systems, (akra, hindle, muzzys, tiforce) i'll buy one probably in january, and come march this will all be a laughing matter.
The good news is that after taking a California superbike school class at pikes peak, I seem to be consideably faster in the twisties and was pulling far away from his busa after a set of turns.
I'ts been a seesaw battle between the two of us so far, which is pretty cool. we basically live across the street from each other. he is acyually storing his busa in my garage this winter so acyually i can save myself about 1500 bucks and just sabotage his bike rather than drop cash on a full system (just kidding, well sorta).
Thanks for keeping on my ass, I'll make sure to represent zx12 style.

As a winter project you can relocate his air temp sensor to right next to one of the headers...lol. It will make his bike run like crap...lol.
Or you can purchase a 2001 ECM and sell his 99 one for a substansial profit on EBay.
I like Chris though, so maybe just "let" him win...lol

Jason, If you are buying an Exhaust system in "January" then (with the newest mods to the Hindle Step tube and maps complete and being able to buy the complete systam for around $750 (Oval Ti Muffler) I would First #1 look at the Hindle then the TiForce!

750!!!, damn thats a hella lot less than i expected. woo hoo. i hope its true.
i live in the mountains so my season is basically over and wont begin til at least mid march, prolly more like mid april. so i got a lot O time to decide.
i shall take your advice very seriously, the akra sure looks nice though.
decisions decisions.
oh yeah turboblew,
i like chris too, but losing is not an option. besides he'll have a wife and new born soon so he wont be able to keep up with me on blowing cash on making a fast bike faster.

Yeah jason the Hindle is pretty inexpensive. Big reason is it is Stainless. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it is not beautiful. The Muzzy Ti System is also pretty reasonably priced. As I recall I paid about $850 for my full Ti system. The TiForce goes for about $1,050 and the Akro I think is round $1200 or more.
I get bummed persoanlly because I can't seem to get any of the Busas in my neck of the woods to mix it up. I'm a push over too. They should be excited at the chance to race my nearly three year (2000 model)old bike. And I am nearly 50 years old to boot. And heck those hyabusas are just faster then everything. Gosh I sure hope I don't run into one on the way home from the track this weekend.

I don't believe Hindle does a Ti pipe for the 12 or for that matter any Ti pipes at all if I remeber corectly. In fact Hindle's marketing matra is that they make the lightest Stainless steel system in the world if I remeber it correctly.

Jason, why don't you try the "Y2K" mods until you get the pipe? Picked my stock bike up almost 2/10ths in the 1/4 mile. What do you think he'll feel like with a stock-piped 12 beating up on him!?!

This should be interesting. Your busa buds are of course plotting on your demise. They are certain that anything you do to the 12 they can do better to the busa. This looks a lot like the cold war. Mutual assurd destruction and all that stuff. You do realize that $350 can buy you 50 hp that can be concealed without a trace! The race would be over in a few seconds! oops thats part of that old age and treachery shit!!

Never bring a knife to a knife fight! You might get cut!
I usually admit to the guys that my bike is bone stock except for a few cosmetic enhancements. Sometimes I will even get some encouuragement and advice on how to make my bike run well and make the roll on with them closer. Of course shortly there after the roll on starts with my 1361 on NOS and it is a suprise how good the advice was!!!!!!!
