Laid off... The 12 might have to go...
Well I got laid off today...
I'll be moving back home to Lafayette, IN in a week or so. Bad part about that is that there are no twisties around that area. That's going to suck.
As far as my motorcycle hobby goes, well that may have to be put on hold for a while. Depending on how things turn out, I may have to sell my 12. I'm still making payments on the thing. Bad thing about that is that I owe more on the bike then what I can get out of it.
As far as the Job is concerned, I'm not too disappointed to see it go. I didn't care too much for the job and I'm kind of relieved that I'm out of there. I've been thinking about moving on for a while. All they've done is make the decision for me, and make me eligible for unemployment.
Nevertheless is still sucks to get canned...
Don't know if I'm going to try to stay in engineering. I may try something else...

Lot of work still out there in engineering. Sorry to hear the bad news, I wish you well whatever you decide.
I'd say dont sell your 12, I'm going through some rough times financially now too, but I wont part with it. I dont think I can afford another set of tires since I just bought this jacket, but I say its better to park it in a storage unit and just dont sell it. Not if you love it as much as I do.
Besides, with all the negative that seems to surround you at the moment, use the 12 to have some fun on, keep yourself happy.

I got laid off last year, got some work, zx12r stolen, bought new zx12r. was much happier while laid off being able to ride than not.
Life sucks and then some girl sucks and you feel better.

Don't sell it, get another job. IN is not too far from some good roads in KY and TN.

There's some decent roads an hour south of Indianapolis, so a two hour ride gets ya there.... It makes it a whole day thing. There may be some stuff out due west of Indy also which would be closer to Lafayette. Contrary to popular opinion, Indiana isn't all flat.
Good luck with the job thing, BTW, The Indy metro area is booming. (what recession?) The north side isn't that bad a commute from your town.

Keep your head up. It's to early to talk about selling your bike. A better job is in the line up for you.

Mine is for sale too. Financal problems. I'm selling it right but times are tough for everyone so I doubt I will sell it.

I've had mine up for sale since early this year. I had it on e-bay too. No one wants to give me anything near what it's worth. One guy offered $500 UNDER blue book- I told him to shove it. I'm about to drop the insurance, & screw it- it's a track bike from now on...

Used bike sales are softer than I have ever seen them. I can't put my finger on it, but I think it is a combination of lack of decent paying jobs (how many fast food or retail workers by 12's?), high tax rates (wealth redistribution by the socialist democrats), people scared of being downsized, grocery, car, and home prices climbing through the roof, etc.... Disposable or discretionary income is disappearing.
