The quicker I go the slower the ride?
The quicker my bike gets, the slower it feels. It use to pull like a freight train, now, I'm hitting redline so fast, I hardly have time to enjoy the ride. Anybody else have this experience? All this is making me re think a big bore. Maybe I should go back to an 18t?

My 12 is still stock as far as the engine is concerned, and I sometimes think that the bike is getting slower the more I ride it as you express. Hmmm...less then 3 months of riding now and I have about 10,000 miles on my 12 so far.
I think it feels as if it is getting slower, just cause I'm getting used to the bike more if that made any sense. This is the biggest thing I've ever riden in my short lifetime, and the sensation of that first feeling isnt as appreciated as it was then, as if my arms dont experience the out-of-shoulder-socket pull feeling it once did, if that makes sense.
Granted, the valve adjustment that was done on the 7500 mile service, was the first service where I drove off from the dealer and really saw a HUGE difference in the way the 12 just performed overall, smooth as ever. They dialed it in right and I was pleased.
How many miles are on your 12? What year is it?

I have a 2k model with full akra/cf, PCiiir, BMC race filters. It won last spring's dyno shootout against many other 12s and Busas, so I know it's right up there with the best of them. I know there are faster bikes (other 12s), but its never been beaten. I've been trying to get HP #s from Muzzy on the 1317 kit. However, everyone I've talked to says the 1270 is the "best bang for the buck." When I do something, I usually do my best to do it right. So, I'm still undecided about a big bore.

The reason you have not been able to get any hP numbers on the 1317 "kit" is because it is not a "kit" it's a "combination", one of several that can be built using our components. I don't know that anyone has built an engine based on that configuration. It would be an intersting experiment, but the ultimate outcome would be based not only on the displacement but also on the compression, head flow, cam, timing, etc. that the builder chose.
You need to look at the comments from the 1270 and 1361 owners and draw your own conclusions. Always remember though, that each guy builds his engine a little differently. The numbers we publish are basic test results of our engine on our dyno. In many cases (Psycho, Cliff Randall,Entropy, etc) the results are BETTER than ours because the builder spends MANY hours optimizing their particular combination.
