Now, having been there, you can appreciate what we did two years ago with the 12's to run the 192/199 speeds. I was starting "around the corner" grabbing second just as I got straightend out and we had moved the timing lights about 100 yards further down. That "curve" was pretty exciting, and the brake discs on those bikes were BLUE. THere is alot of "technique "involved, as well as the distance/traction issues.

DM, No one that has not been there (On the course itself going slow and fast) can understand! I have seen a lot and "KNEW" it was in bad shape and could not believe how bad it was! It was bad enough that Bonneville now does not look so bad! Seeing that you make a "Right hand turn" "LOOKS" worse than it is, but it still takes some skill, time and speed loss! From 65 degrees, about every 5 degrees of temp increase was worth 1 MPH! You were there when it was in the 90's You could have run 202 or 203 under better conditions!
I hope that you scooped out your seat a little! (Space for your Balls)! I always "Appreciated" what you did, Now I cannot understand "How" you did it!

I guess we were ill prepared, but also there were extrordinarilly long lines which didnt help the "learning curve" much. I never doubted the skill you had or the passes you guys made, I think the Busa crowd were always the "naysayers", especially since you guys used Jack Dolan as the timer!

Try doing it with the pads seperated from the rotors! I did this trying to pickup MPH and it was scary pumping the brake lever about 7 times to get feel back, especially when you're still "no brakes" past the first turnoff! I was talking to my bike and envisioning the sandtrap ahead but they finally kicked in with plenty of time to spare. Wont catch me doing that again tho!

Damn! That's cool because it was 95 degrees when I went 202.593 on motor! Maybe with no wind and better temperatures in late October a better number can be obtained.

I watched the temp on Sunday Morning and doing things the same way, every run was a 1 mph slower! From 163 to 159, no other changes! It was just below 70 to start and in the 80's when I stopped! A young man even saud to me that "Run at 8 am and it will be your best run of the day"!! Totally correct! At Bonneville, I understand that "Everyone" is up at Sun Rise to run and are usually giving up by 9 or 10 AM!! Is that correct Dr. Meyer?? (I always liked how you operated since that ZX11 Dublin Kawasaki)!!

I dont see how those Southwest Busa guys rode that "brakeless" Busa through the traps. Pretty scary to experience on that course..lol.
They should rename their team to "Should be scared racing" with an escort car that has "The brakeless one is mine" written in shoepolish on the rear window...lol
Next time Ill borrow a parachute from the army jumpers as back up...lol
