Engine builder question

The zx12 has 2 different rods, "J" and "k", weight codes.
all the replacement rods are "k".
The manual says Do not mix them.
If you need 1 rod and you have a "j" rod motor
Will you need to replace all 4 rods?
That's a bit hard to deal with because Big K decided
not to produce the "J" rods for resale.
Are there any options to this and at what cost in
vibration and reliablity.

For ideal balance you need to have adjacent pairs the same. So you need only two "K" weight rods. Put them either on 1&2 or on 3&4. (The two left rods or the two right rods). The ascending and decending rods cancel each other out.

Thanks Doug,
An extra $80 is much better than an extra $240.

Are you saying the rods in the zx12 motors are only $80 a piece?
