What about have the stock rod lightened and ping shot or getting knife rods so the cleance would not be an issue. And it would cost about half the price.

Part of the issue is the stock rod bolt strength. And in my case I also wanted to be able to spray as well.

So if I have to get the 00-01 bearings for the Carillo rods for an 02 bike, which part number do I order?
92028-1941-Blue, 92028-1942-Black, or 92028-1943-Brown

I thought Muzzy was running a stock lower end on the turbo zx12 and it makes 400 hp

It comes down to how hard you intend to run it and how long do you want it to last.
We have seen and heard of rod and or rod bolt failures on the 1270 kitted bike(s). With that in mind I personally decided that since I have never seen a Carillo fail I would eliminate that potential.

What about the falicon knife rods with ARP bolts? You will not have the fit issue?

Is this true? Doug Meyer posts a few months back that he had the same issues with his Falicon rods.

I'd like to know if the Falicon rods will clear also. They come in a 2mm shorter version so you won't need the block spacer. Very stealthy.

You NEED to Plasti-Gauge to know what bearings to get...
I had to order the browns for one rod...

Plasti-gauge it is. Can you let me in on what the difference in sizes are? Also, what were the extra mods you had to do in order for the rods to fit? I want the rods to help out the bottom end, but didn't realize what I was getting into.

Buy a service manual...
EVERYTHING (clearances) is in there...
Starter gear,and cases need to be clearanced for the rods...

Service manual is the first thing I got, '02 only. Must've overlooked the bearring specs for the different colors, I'll look again. Justoys is on island and he has a manual for his '00 so I'll scam his.
