I'm kinda ambivalent towards headwork. Think of it this way:
You can purchase the crankcases, crankshaft, cylinder, pistons and connecting rods for a zx12r, and still not equal the price of a BARE head, that is, a head without valves, springs, valve guides, collets, water jacket plugs, etc...

GOZR, what kind of expense are we talking about here? Who's doing it for you? Since the 10R is still a long ways off, I could seriously consider this mod. That is if I don't have the sell my kids into (back into, that is) slavery.

My winter mods will be a few more tid bits of Titanium, Dino's trunk mod and hopefully the front turn signals!! Hint hint!!!
Also I will either buck up for the MUZZY EMS or at lest but the Yosh EMS on so I can easily change between my NOS map and non NOS map.
Search for a carbon subframe
Probably do the ZX7R swing arm if it works.

I'm going to powdercoat my 7R swingarm black, before putting it on. That way it will match the current paint on the bike. Dino - Mike Velasco has a s/s swingarm for a CBR900 (I think) being the adaptive soul that you are, maybe you could make it work on your 12. M'self, I just want a *shorter* swingarm.

Oooo! I'm not lookin' for a ss swingarm! I remember when I had a 7R and they came out with it. it was about $5K! At that price, I could get a COMPLETE late model 7R!
That's one reason why I'm interested. The P series has been around for so long, I'm figuring I can score a standard 7R swingarm for just this side of "dirt" (cheap). Hell, my dealer might even have one or two of them in his "boneyard". Can you say, "you pull it and it's your's"? I knew you could.
What I'm curious about is if any mods are need for shock attachment or anything like that? Do you need different bearings, "dog bones", etc. or does it basically a "swap job"?
Like swft, I just want a shorter swingarm. I ain't even thinkin' about repainting, powdercoating it or anything. I just wanna slap that baby on there!

RedRlek the only problem i see with the 7R swing is the attachement of the rear caliper , so i'll have to weld a small part like on the zx12 swingarm to be able to hold the zx12 caliper.
The rest seamce ok
I'll post some pics to discribe it

GOZR,are the dimensions at the pivot point close? I wouldn't have to worry about the caliper slide "cuz the RAM ssswingarm comes w/ brembo set-up and it's all on the left side. They have these available for the 7....Muzzy used them on their RAPTORS.......ME WANT BAD!!
